But what makes Bali stand out? Its Instagrammable locations! These are places where photos capture beauty, culture, history and a unique atmosphere that can’t be found anywhere else. Here’s our guide to some of Bali’s most photogenic spots, guaranteed to make your followers swoon with envy.

  1. Ubud. The first destination you should visit is Ubud – the cultural heart of Bali. This charming town has been home to Balinese royalty since the 9th century. It offers an array of stunning landscapes, from emerald-green paddy fields surrounded by towering volcanoes to intricate Hindu temples tucked away in dense jungle foliage. For a dose of traditional architecture and plenty of photo ops, head to Bebek Bengil, which overlooks beautiful Campuhan Ridge. And don’t forget to take a picture at Pura Taman Saraswati temple; its ornate shrines and lotus ponds will transport you back in time!
  2. Ubud Rice Fields. This area exemplifies why Bali has become popular with photographers and social media fans. The rolling hills and green terraces are a stunning sight and an iconic image of Bali’s beautiful culture and natural beauty. It’s easy to appreciate why this place has been documented repeatedly in photos; even a novice photographer could capture some great shots here.
  3. Uluwatu Temple. This is one of Bali’s oldest temples perched atop rugged limestone cliffs overlooking the Indian Ocean. The stark yet majestic landscape around it creates an otherworldly atmosphere that must be experienced firsthand! The best time to visit Uluwatu Temple is during sunset when the sky turns all shades of orange and red against the backdrop of the deep blue sea. As dusk approaches, witness a traditional Kecak fire dance performance here nightly on top of the cliffs—it’s truly a sight to behold!

  1. Mount Batur. From the mesmerising grandeur of Uluwatu Temple, let’s move to the next most Instagrammable spot in Bali – Mount Batur. It is a beautiful active volcano on Lake Batur’s northwest side and offers spectacular views from all angles. You can explore the region by trekking and enjoy views with every step forward. While multiple routes are available depending upon your fitness level, taking up a guided tour could be better since they have all safety measures in place. One of the most popular trekking adventures in Bali is the hike up the mountain to catch the sunrise over Mount Agung. Hiking under starry skies to witness the morning over the peaks of Bali is a must-do experience that will certainly fill up your camera roll.
  2. Jimbaran Beach. Jimbaran Beach is one of Bali’s most photogenic spots due to the soft white sands and crystal clear waters. As you wander along the shoreline, you’ll be met with breathtaking views from every angle – perfect for capturing some truly spectacular shots. If it’s a sunset shot you’re after, Jimbaran Beach has got you covered; its sunsets are mesmerising. It’s one of the island’s most popular beaches and locations for dinner, so you’ll want to arrive early for your spot. There’s nothing quite like watching the sky turn an array of oranges, pinks and yellows as the sun sets over the ocean and horizon. To top off your photo shoot at Jimbaran Beach, enjoy one of Bali’s most famous dinner spots as hundreds of seafood lovers flock here for the nightly barbecues. Come hungry! Sample delicious seafood right by the sea while catching up with friends or family on the beach
  1. Tanah Lot Temple. This temple, perched atop a large rock formation situated amid the ocean, makes for an awe-inspiring sight. It creates a vivid contrast between its ancient structure and modern surroundings; it serves as a reminder that this island has stood the test of time. Once inside Tanah Lot’s gates, guests can explore further – taking pictures at every turn and marvelling at how well-preserved the temple still is after centuries have passed since its construction. As dusk approaches, locals perform traditional Balinese dances nearby while vendors sell snacks and souvenirs, creating a lively atmosphere perfect for capturing some amazing photos. Tanah Lot Temple is worthy of being included in one’s list of Instagrammable spots in Bali.
  2. Tegalalang Rice Terraces. Located in the north-central part of the island, Tegalalang Rice Terraces are some of the most stunning rice paddies in the world, with their steep slopes, lush greenery, and intricate irrigation systems. Not only are the terraces a marvel of engineering, but they also offer visitors an opportunity to immerse themselves in the traditional agricultural way of life in Bali. Apart from their cultural significance, the terraces are a photographer’s dream, offering endless opportunities to capture breathtaking landscapes and people at work. So whether you’re a history buff, a nature lover, or simply looking for a stunning backdrop for your photos, the Tegalalang Rice Terraces are a must-visit location that will leave a lasting impression.

Grab a cocktail and grab your camera for endless beach and sunset views. The beach offers much more than just stunning views; Seminyak is a lively area renowned as home to some of Bali’s best restaurants, bars and shopping outlets. 1. Nusa Penida Island. This small island off the southeast coast of Bali, including Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan, offers some of the most stunning views and photo opportunities you’ll find anywhere in Indonesia. With its towering limestone cliffs to pristine white sand beaches, Nusa Penida is easily one of Bali’s most photographed locations. The best part about this paradise is that it’s still relatively untouched by tourism, so plenty of unspoiled natural wonders are waiting for you to explore. The first sight you should check out when visiting Nusa Penida is Kelingking Beach. You can get a breathtaking view from above or bravely walk down hundreds of steps to reach the water below. There are also crystal-clear pools surrounded by lush greenery. After that, head over to Angel’s Billabong near Broken Beach. This unique spot features several sacred rock formations jutting into the sea while forming a large lagoon where visitors can swim peacefully in turquoise waters.
  2. Padang Padang Beach. Last but not least, the next Instagrammable spot on Bali’s coast is Padang Padang Beach. Although it may not be as large and well-known as other beaches in Bali, this hidden gem offers a truly unique photo opportunity for travellers that can’t be missed. Located just south of Uluwatu and accessible only by foot or scooter, Padang Padang Beach is serene and boasts stunning views of white sand and crystal-clear blue waters. In particular, the sunset at this location provides an amazing show of colours. Plus, if you’re lucky enough to time your visit right (on low tide), there are even shallow pools perfect for swimming and snorkelling through coral reefs teeming with plant and marine life.
