About Our Bali Tourist Map

Young couple with map amidst green trees

Bali is not officially divided into North, South, East, West and Central zones as our map is and thus. you may find people arguing over which part of Bali certain tourist attractions are in.

We feel that each of the tourist attractions on our map is in the right place, but we’d be happy to concede that there is some overlap between these tourist areas.

However, the important thing is that most tourists can use this map to find the tourist attractions that are the main attraction(s) in Bali for them and plan their visit accordingly.

The 82 Tourist Attractions On Our Map

FINNS BALI MAP

This list contains the majority of the tourist attractions in Bali from Hindu Temples, to Scuba Diving spots, to the volcanoes of Mount Batur and Mount Agung, to beaches, and much more.

Whether you want to go shopping, visit cultural highlights, or join the crowds in the beach towns, we’ve got you covered.

South Bali Tourist Map

South Bali FINNS BALI MAP

South Bali includes Canggu, Kuta, Seminyak, Uluwatu, Legian, Nusa Dua, Umalas, Sanur, Pererenan, Seseh and many more. It’s the most popular part of the island these tourist attractions are only scratching the surface of what you can do in the area.

FINNS Beach Club

FINNS Drone 4

1 in 8 people who visit Bali come to FINNS. It’s the world’s best beach club, not because we say it is, but because our customers do.

You can enjoy infinity pools, world-class dining, cold drinks, sunset views, local and international DJs and vocalists, entertainment and much more!

Once you’ve seen the sunset over the Indian Ocean from FINNS, you can say you’ve truly been to Bali. It’s the hottest place of all the tourist attractions on the island.

Tanah Lot Temple

Scenic view of Tanah Lot Temple, ocean and cloudy sky, bali, indonesia

If you love temples, you’re going to love Tanah Lot which sits on a small island off the coast of Bali and it’s in the perfect location to benefit from the light at sunset.

It’s one of the most beautiful temples on an island with thousands of temples and it’s one of the must-see tourist attractions in South Bali.

Bajra Sandhi Monument

bajra sandhi monument

Denpasar is the capital city but many tourists pass through Bali without ever stopping to spend time in the shops, cafes, hotels, etc. in this part of the island.

We think it’s worth a visit for the Bajra Sandhi Monument alone. This fascinating museum tells the story of the heroic struggles of the Balinese people. There’s nowhere quite like it anywhere else on Earth.

Waterbom Bali

Waterbom Bali

Waterbom is the biggest waterpark on the island, right now.

If you’re in Kuta and intend to go shopping, enjoy the nightlife, etc. then you might as well hit up Waterbom for a good time too.

Nusa Dua Beach

Waves on beautiful Nusa Dua Bali Beach

If Bali’s beaches are the main tourist attractions then Nusa Dua Beach has to be high up on most people’s holiday itineraries.

It’s popularly acclaimed as the best beach in Bali and it’s surrounded by big brand-name 5-star hotel resorts. If you like soft white sands that go on forever, you won’t be disappointed in Nusa Dua.

The only downside is that it’s quite an expensive place to be though much of the fine dining in this area is world class.

Kuta Beach Sea Turtle Conservation Center

Turtle Conservation Education Centre Bali 3

One of our favourite tourist attractions is this sea turtle release program on Kuta Beach, it can get very busy there at times, particularly during peak season but if you’re in Kuta, already, this is a no-brainer place to go.

Sea turtles are endangered species and everything we can do to support them in the natural environment is a good thing.

Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park (GWK)

Mesmerizing shot of the Patung Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue in Bali

You can see the statue of the Garuda is you fly into Bali. It’s the largest statue in Indonesia and it towers over the Bukit Peninsula.

The GWK park is a great place to learn about the culture of Bali and experience things like Balinese traditional dance performances.

Uluwatu Temple

Aerial photo of Uluwatu temple, tourist and travel site in in Bali, Indonesia

The most famous temple in South Bali is Uluwatu Temple where you can see the world-famous kecak fire dance on the clifftop at sunset.

You can also meet the world’s most larcenous monkeys, who don’t just steal from tourists, they ransom things back to them (we’d recommend keeping your phone, camera, passport, keys, etc. well out of sight here).

Padang Padang Beach

Padang Padang Beach 1440x960 by nothingfamiliarcom

If you’re taking a day tour of the Bukit Peninsula then one of the top tourist attractions is Padang Padang Beach thanks to the incredible soft white sands and turquoise waters.

However, this beach is something of a victim of its own success, and we’d get there early in the morning if you want to avoid the crowds and enjoy the beach as it used to be.

Jimbaran Bay

sunset on jimbaran beach recommended by finns

This area is famous for its seafood BBQs and if you love to eat the fresh catch of the day, we think it’s the best place in Bali to do so.

There’s a seafood market here too, so if you want to try your hand at making some fish dishes at home, you can or you can ask the local chefs to cook your purchases for you!

Seminyak Square

Seminyak Square

There are plenty of shops all over Bali and they sell everything from souvenirs to electronics, to high fashion. However, if you want boutique tourism then Seminyak is the place to go.

You will find that Seminyak Square which is located very near to Seminyak Village (another boutique mall of sorts) is the best place to buy

Nusa Dua Waterblow

WaterBlowNusaDua

If you take a trip to Nusa Dua then just outside of town is the waterblow. This is a fabulous place where you can witness the power of the ocean.

The waves are forced up through the rock structure and then spray out in a burst that can go several meters upwards. Just be careful around this location, you could easily get hurt if you don’t pay attention to the water.

Dharmayana Temple

Dharmayana Temple

This vivid and interesting temple is one of the few Chinese temples in Bali and you will find that it’s popular with locals from the Chinese community here on the island.

As tourist attractions go, it’s very eye-catching and you will enjoy the bright red facade and striking artwork on the grounds.

Satria Gatotkaca Park

The Satria Gatotkaca Statue

This is an extraordinary piece of art located by the airport which also has a pleasant park for you to stroll in and appreciate the talents of the local gardeners.

It’s one of the most convenient tourist attractions on the island because everyone will need to spend time at the airport on their holiday.

East Bali Map

East Bali FINNS BALI MAP

There aren’t as many tourist attractions in East Bali as there are in South Bali but there are still plenty of things to do and this side of the island is often cheaper to stay in too!

Amed Beach

Top view of Amed beach and volcano Agung at sunset. Bali, Indonesia

Amed Beach is a popular spot for snorkelling and scuba diving. The black sands aren’t as pretty as those in Nusa Dua but they are fairly unique and the mountains in the distance make this town and the general location really attractive to look at.

If you want to rub shoulders with the locals in a relaxed place then this might be the area for you.

Japanese Shipwreck

school of fish inside a shipwreck

Perhaps, the most famous part of East Bali is under the water, the wreck of the USAT Liberty which was an American ship that was sunk during World War 2 because of torpedo damage from a Japanese submarine.

Interestingly, the ship was actually rescued but had to be ditched on the shore when it couldn’t make it to port. Then along came a storm and swept the wreck back out to sea, just a few yards from the sand.

Lempuyang Temple

Female with a pink dress standing at Temple gates at Lempuyang Luhur temple in Bali

Lempuyang Temple offers Bali’s most iconic photo spot even though the shot is a camera trick and not reality, people regularly line up here for hours to get their photo taken.

We’d prefer to visit the temple rather than wait for a shot at Heaven’s Gate, but it takes all sorts and it’s one of the most popular tourist attractions in this part of the island for it.

Mount Agung

View of Batur Caldera and Gunung Abang from mount Agung in Bali

The island’s most sacred mountain is Mount Agung. It’s also the tallest volcano and mountain on the island and it’s one of only three active volcanoes in Bali.

Climbing Mount Agung is hard work and you want to be in exceptional shape before you opt for a day tour to reach the summit. However, this is one of the best tourist attractions here because you can use it in a backdrop to make any photo more exciting.

Tirta Gangga

origin history of tirta gangga water palace

Tirta Gangga is a former royal water palace and it’s a wonderful place to wander about and relax while enjoying all the water features.

This part of Bali is a little cooler than some of the beach towns and you will find it refreshing to find so much beauty in between the rice fields and rainforest.

Besakih Temple (The Mother Temple)

Roofs in Pura Besakih Temple in Bali Island, Indonesia

Besakih Temple is the holiest place in Bali. It’s also the heart of the Subak agricultural system, Bali’s only UNESCO world heritage site. Besakih Temple is frequently known as the “mother temple” as it nourishes all other temples on the island.

We should note that the Besakih Temple complex is huge and if you want to fully explore Besakih Temple you might want to spend a whole day at this spot.

Samsara Living Museum Bali

museum living samsara terletak di desa jungutan kecamatan bebandem kabupaten karangasem bali 169

This is a unique museum in Bali and one of the top tourist attractions in this area. It’s a living museum which means it changes and grows with the island and its visitors.

Tourists will find that they can fully experience the cycle of Balinese Life here as well as take basic cookery classes to master Balinese food.

Goa Lawah Temple

Detail from the Balinese Hindu temple Pura Goa Lawah in Indonesi

The “Bat Cave” temple is one of the most fascinating tourist attractions in the area and yes, it’s home to quite a few bats. Don’t worry though, they’re quite harmless nectar bats.

It’s a popular stop on day tour itineraries and we’d aim to get there early in the day if you want to enjoy this temple in relative solitude.

Air Terjun Jagasatru

A little boy at Jagasatru Waterfall

One of the best natural tourist attractions in this region is the Waterfall of Jagasatru. You can get some amazing snaps for your Instagram feed at this place and it’s great for bathing too.

Just be warned, the water here is really cold compared to most of the other waterfalls and the beaches of Bali, so bring a towel to dry off quickly when you’re done with your dip.

Bias Tugel Beach

Bias Tugel Beach

This is one of the most attractive beaches in the area and it’s just next to Padang Bai Harbour (an area that most tourists will never visit and would never expect to find one of the top tourist attractions in).

If you love to scuba dive, the marine life at this beach is world-class and the water despite the proximity to the harbour is usually crystal clear and wonderful for snorkelling.

Sidemen Village

Rural road in Sediment District, Bali Island, Indonesia

Sidemen is one of our favourite spots in the island and you will find it’s what Ubud used to be like before it was “discovered” in the Eat, Pray, Love book and movie and hordes of developers arrived.

If you love the idea of watching local craftspeople at work, wandering the rice terraces and staying in some very attractive but quiet and calm resorts, you’re going to love Sidemen too.

Tenganan Pegeringsingan Village

tenganan village bali

This is one of the oldest tourist attractions in the land as it’s one of Bali’s oldest villages. If you’re curious about what life in Bali was like before Hinduism arrived here, then the Bali Aga (the original Bali people) in this village can show you.

Each Bali Aga village is unique and has its own customs and rituals. This village is famous for its pandan leaf battles which are entertaining and fun to watch when you visit.

Puri Agung Karangasem

puri agung peliatan ubud bali sandra travelblog com

This is a unique royal palace that incorporates elements of Balinese, Chinese and European architectural styles and there’s nothing quite like anywhere else in Indonesia.

It’s in the heart of Amlapura, the seat of the Karangasem Regency and we think it’s very much worth a day tour just to visit this place.

Taman Ujung

Sculpture in Taman Ujung Water Palace , Bali

This royal water palace is much less busy than the more famous Tirta Gangga and we think that it’s, at least, as nice.

If you like your attractions without tourists, this is a great place to come as it gets relatively few foreign visitors and you should have the place all to yourself.

Central Bali Map

Central Bali FINNS BALI MAP

Central Bali is mainly centred around the famous town of Ubud and it’s the other side of life here when you want to get away from the beaches and head up towards the mountains and rice fields that are the heart of the nation.

Ubud Sacred Monkey Forest

Tropical jungle roots hanging down over the bridge from the huge tree at the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary, Ubud, Bali, Indonesia

The monkey forest is a lovely place with several tribes of feral monkeys roaming the grounds and you’d be wise to keep your distance as they can get a bit larcenous or even violent with people.

However, assuming you do that then you will find that the temples and forests here are ideal places for taking lots of pictures and having a nice time in the Balinese sun.

Ubud Art Market

Young woman traveler at ubud market in bali

Currently, Ubud Art Market is closed as it burned to the ground just before we wrote this article. It’s not known when the market will return but it’s worth keep an eye out for it.

It was the best source of genuine arts and crafts here in Bali and a great place for those who enjoy haggling for a souvenir or two.

Sukawati Art Market

Cheerful young woman walking on local market

Fortunately, not far from Ubud in the town of Sukawati, you will find another art market that didn’t used to see as many tourists but with Ubud’s closing, we imagine they will be picking up their game here.

Historically, the prices were always more reasonable here, but with a big influx of visitors, things are likely to change. We’d recommend that you haggle but not too hard on your trip to this place.

Tegalalang Rice Terraces

Woman at Tegalalang rice terrace in Bali

Perhaps, the best location for a trip to see some rice terraces is Tegalalang. It’s very close to Ubud and that means it’s one of the most popular spots to enjoy rice fields.

With the mountains located in the background, you can get some epic photos here, but it’s best to visit this location in the morning if you want to enjoy the area and its cafes in relative peace and tranquillity.

Bali Swing

Indonesia, Bali, young woman sitting on swing

There’s no better sign that you’re a young, adrenaline seeker with an awesome Instagram feed than taking a trip to this location outside of Ubud.

These swings located in the jungle are designed to send you out as high as possible over the tree canopy so that you can get amazing photographs.

Leke Leke Waterfall

leke leke bali

This gorgeous waterfall is quite a drive from Ubud and that’s good news because it means this attraction located among the rice fields and rain forest isn’t too busy.

If you want to get amazing photos at a waterfall here on the island, one of our tips would be to head out to Leke Leke early in the day and enjoy one of the island’s best attractions in peace.

Belulang Hot Springs

belulang hot spring

This is a lovely hot spring where you can relax and soak in some water warmed by the volcanic activity in the region. This location can get quite busy around lunchtime so go early or later in the day.

Air Panas Angseri

AngseriHotSpring1 balifulldaytourcom

This is another popular hot spring but it’s located a bit further from Ubud than Belulang and you will find the location is a little quieter and more relaxed, all day long.

Pura Taman Saraswati

Pura Taman Saraswati

The Ubud Water Palace is actually in Saraswati as the local name suggests and this location is just a short drive from most of the hotels in the area. It’s a very calm, tranquil place where you can get some beautiful photographs.

Puri Saren Agung

Goa Gajah Temple

Pretty girl at Goa Gajah, Bali

The Elephant Cave temple is inside a cave and one curious thing about this place is nobody knows why it’s called the “Elephant Cave” because the origin of the name is lost to history.

It’s a very cool location though and one of the more unique attractions around Ubud.

Pura Gunung Kawi: Bali’s Valley Of The Kings

Gunung Kawi Temple

This incredible place not far from Ubud is Bali’s very own Valley of the Kings, the kings are carved out of the rock on both sides of a river valley and it’s a very dramatic location for some Instagram shots.

Bali Bird Park

The bird park is right next door to the reptile park which makes this another great place for animal lovers and it’s one of the best managed attractions in Bali.

West Bali Map

West Bali FINNS BALI MAP

West Bali is the least visited part of Bali and it’s a shame because there’s plenty to do in this region, but it’s quite spread out and each site is usually located quite far from the next. One of our tips for seeing West Bali would be to hire a driver for the time you spend there.

West Bali National Park

west bali national park2

This is the only national park of Indonesia located within the borders of Bali and it’s a wonderful place full of native fauna and flora.

It’s also home to one of the best dive spots in the province, Menjangan Island, which is one of the few places in Bali where you can see wild deer too.

Banjar Hot Spring
