The 22 Best Indian Restaurants In Bali

Gateway Of India

Gateway of India is the best Indian restaurant chain in Bali. We’ve recommended their Seminyak branch here, but you’ll find good Indian food in all of their branches.

Their tandoori chicken is fantastic, and our Indian friends assure us it’s a great example of authentic Indian food.

It’s also excellent value for money; you won’t need to spend a fortune at this Indian restaurant.

Mumbai Station Pure Vegetarian Indian Cafe

This simple cafe makes some truly delicious Indian food which is all guaranteed to be vegetarian.

If you want vegan rather than vegetarian dishes speak to the staff and they will try to help you get what you need.

Their masala dosa is truly wonderful, a delicate but crispy flatbread stuffed with curried potato and veggies with some extraordinarily flavourful chutney to go with it. Yum!

Queen’s Tandoor

The desi food here is as authentic as Indian chefs prepare it.

Queen’s Tandoor is where it all started, and though they have other restaurants around Bali, this is the only Queen’s Tandoor.

It’s a firm favorite among the Indian restaurants in Bali with the foodie crowd and deservedly so.

They have a superb mango lassi, the vegetarian dum biryani is excellent and you can see why they have a reputation for excellence in Indian food with every dish served.

Check out the pistachio kulfi here; you’ll never want to eat anywhere else again. This is one of the best Indian restaurants in Bali.

Their smoked butter chicken is a real treat, and their Bali Indian food fusion is delicious.

If you’re unsure where to start with the delicious food on offer here, you might want to book a table when they’ve got a buffet on, and then you can try all their best Indian food to your heart’s content for a fixed price.

Indian Delites

Make sure to book a table upstairs at this place in Bali because while it has some of the best Indian food around, the best thing about this Indian restaurant is its incredible view of the local area.

The fish tikka and masala were delicious and the sals poppadums were extremely tasty.

It’s one of the most authentic Indian restaurants in Bali we’ve tried, and the food served is exceptional. We’d happily go back to Indian Delites regularly.

La Rouge

La Rough is one of those Indian restaurants that is happy to mix and match its menu to ensure that your taste buds are delighted whether you want Indian food.

So, try the Brinjal Curry (an eggplant-based concoction to die for) and then move on to a spaghetti bolognese because that’s how they roll at La Rouge.

Natti’s Indian Specialty Restaurant Bali

We think that Natti’s is absolutely one of the best Indian restaurants in Bali, but it’s not the easiest of places to get to, and that means it’s not quite as busy as some of the other restaurants.

You won’t need to book in advance to get a seat most of the time. And that’s a shame because the food served here is fantastic (though the portions could be a little more significant, we think).

Grab the paneer tikka, dal makhani, pani puri, malai kofta, gobi manchurian and more! You can’t go wrong, as everything will delight your taste buds.

Pesona Lounge Ubud

This modern Indian restaurant offers one of Bali’s finest eating experiences. The Burrata butter chicken is worth crossing the island for on its own!

One of the things we love is the jackfruit onion masala, which brings a natural hint of fresh local produce to the occasion.

Their lamb vindaloo and lamb rogan josh are standout dishes and our only regret at Pesona is that we can’t fit any more food in by the end of the night.

Curry In Bali

We think that of all our best Indian restaurants in Bali, this one has the best name. It’s straightforward and lets you know it’s indisputably an Indian restaurant.

The owner is a super friendly chap, and along with the excellent food choices, you can also learn a little about Indian family life and Indian music!

The butter chicken curry is excellent, and we loved to mop it up with the best garlic naan on the island.

Roti Canai Street Kitchen

This Indian restaurant loves to experiment with combining the tastes of North Indian food, South Indian platters and Balinese food.

If you’re looking for authentic Indian dishes, you may not find them here, but if you’re looking for experimental Indian food in Bali, this is a great place to go.

Try the peanut butter roti to start things, and then enjoy a daal out of this world!

The Royal Kitchen Bali

Indian restaurants in Bali don’t get much bigger or better than this. They can seat over 120 guests, and it’s a great place to go if you’ve got a giant party that you need to accommodate.

The Punjabi fish curry was mouthwatering, and our companions loved the seekh kebab.

We all raved about the chicken tikka masala and the smoked butter chicken. And you can go right with the vegetarian dishes at this restaurant, too. This is delicious Indian cuisine.

Muse Cafe & Art

This isn’t an exclusively Indian restaurant, but it still does some of the best Indian food for vegans and vegetarians that you’ll find anywhere in Bali.

Try the dosa, as all of our vegan friends swear by it, and then feel free to take a more global food tour by pairing it with a vegan burger or some hummus.

Muse has a very kind vibe; the only downside is more parking. So, if you’re driving, make sure to get there early.

MD Warung

If you let the modest looks of this place put you off, you’ll miss out on one of the best Indian restaurants in Bali.

One of the most excellent things you’ll get in this place is the bill at the end, which will be tiny compared to the price of some other places on this list.

Their Indian food is complemented by local Balinese food and we like to mix things up here by enjoying a hearty curry and then grazing on some satay.

We enjoyed the tandoori chicken, too, last time we were there.

Spice Mantraa Indian Cuisine Kuta

Spice Mantraa Indian Cuisine is considered by nearly everyone who visits to be one of the best Indian restaurants on the island.

It has a very authentic vibe, and one thing we love is the service, which is attentive and very careful to ensure you have a good time.

If you have food allergies, don’t worry, the staff will look after you and ensure you go home with good memories of the food.

The Vada Pav sliders are one of our favourite dishes on this varied menu and in our experience, everything is good here.

Atithi

Atithi only opens in the mid-afternoon and then runs late. It’s worth waiting for and is one of the best Indian restaurants for authentic Indian tea! There’s not a teabag in sight, thankfully.

Check out the paneer butter masala, the jalebis, the Kashmiri pulao and more!

One thing we should note about this place is that the portions are very generous indeed, and you may not need to order as much as you usually would in another Indian restaurant in Bali.

Queens Of India

It’s not the cheapest place here, but Queens of India (owned by the same people as the Queen’s Tandoor) is fantastic.

Get a masala chai, a Mumbai chaat, and a chicken biryani; you can’t go wrong. The Queens of India franchise knows how to make delectable food that impresses.

As one of the most reliable Indian restaurants on the island, you can be sure of a good time when you visit Queens of India.

NU Delhi

If you love North Indian food, you’re in for a treat at Nu Delhi, and they have a good range of vegetarian options, too!

The owner is from Delhi, and if you’re lucky enough to meet him, he’s a lovely guy with an exciting story about how he got to Indonesia.

The Malai kebab with mint chutney was excellent, the chicken pulao was lovely, and the egg burji was the winner.

Earth Cafe

The Earth Cafe Bali is not an exclusively Indian restaurant. Still, it makes our list because it does have some vegan and vegetarian Indian options that are considered to be delicious by the local Indian community.

Everything here is raw, vegan, and gluten-free but comes at a substantial price premium.

If you want reliably good Indian vegan food, you will find it at Earth Cafe.

Sakti Dining Room

The Sakti Dining Room is a fine dining experience at the Five Elements resort.

They are all about local flavours inspiring their traditional Indian food and we have been impressed with what we’ve tried there.

However, we were upset that the portions were tiny for an expensive place. Thus, it’s a rare treat occasion that we visit the Sakti Dining Room as there is better value to be found at other Indian restaurants in Bali.

The Seeds of Life

The Seeds of Life is another vegan place that isn’t strictly an Indian restaurant but has many Indian options on the menu.

The zucchini laksa is lovely and not as heavy on sugar as some vegan dishes can be.

The staff here is very friendly and works hard to ensure you have a good experience.

And if you want raw vegan Indian food, you’ll be hard-pushed to find better in Bali.

Chai’Ba Street Kitchen & Bar

We love coming to Chai’Ba because the chefs make the dining experience entertaining.

You can watch them prepare the freshest ingredients and make the tastiest Indian food. Take advantage of this place.

Mumbai Kitchen – FINNS Beach Club @ Monsoon

Yes, FINNS Beach Club has an Indian kitchen on the premises, and if we do say so ourselves, it’s delicious.

It has an excellent range of North Indian cuisine and our favourite item on the menu is the Paneer Tikka Masala.

Stop by when you’re in Canggu for a hot welcome.

The most popular place to order from the Mumbai Kitchen at FINNS is in the Monsoon Restaurant, but you can order Indian food from anywhere in the beach club and we’ll make sure that it’s served to you straight from the kitchen!

Yes! Bali has excellent Indian restaurants and food! That’s because much of Balinese culture is influenced by India. You would expect the best Indian restaurants in Bali to be among the best examples of Indian cuisine outside of India, and they are.

How Much Does Indian Food Cost In Bali? Is Bali Costly For Indians?

It depends on where you come from. Indian tourists say that Indian restaurants in Bali are roughly the same price as in India, so they’re not particularly expensive.

Indian fine dining isn’t as everyday as it is for other cuisines in Bali, but it does exist, and a fine-dining Indian restaurant will be quite expensive.

Is Bali Cheaper For Indians?

Cheaper than where? It’s undoubtedly cheaper than Australia or the UK but not more affordable than India or some Indochinese countries for Indian food.
