Dreamland Bali is one of the most stunning beaches that you can find in Southern Bali. It’s on the rugged coastline of Uluwatu and is not far from Uluwatu Temple and Uluwatu Beach.

The official Dreamland Beach location is Pantai Dreamland, Jl. Raya Pecatu Bukit Jimbaran Bukit Peninsula, Kuta 80363 Indonesia

How To Get To Dreamland Beach

You have a few options to get to Dreamland Beach and a lot depends on how close you are in the first instance.

  • Take a Grab or Gojek ride – if you’re relatively close to Uluwatu before you start, the best way to get to Dreamland Beach is likely to be a ride-sharing app. This ensures you get a fixed price for the journey and that the price is fair. You can even connect your card to the app so that you don’t need to pay in cash. Just be aware that there aren’t a huge number of drivers in this area late in the day, so it’s a good idea to arrange a return trip with the driver that drops you off.

  • Hire a private car and driver. This is a very affordable option and a good choice if you’re coming from a long distance away or if you intend to visit other places in addition to Dreamland Beach on the same day.

  • Rent a scooter – we’re not big fans of renting scooters in Bali. It’s hard to be road-legal and if you’re not legal, your insurance is worthless. It’s also a difficult place to ride in with poor local roads and driving standards unlike anywhere else on Earth. We don’t recommend you rent a scooter, but we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention it as an option.

Is There An Entrance Fee For Dreamland Beach Bali?

No. There is no entrance fee for Dreamland Beach in Bali. However, we should point out that if you bring a scooter you will need to pay 5,000 IDR to use the car park and the car parking fee is 10,000 IDR for the day.

It’s also important to note that this beach gets hot and has blazing sun all day long with very little shade, so we strongly recommend renting beach chairs and an umbrella which is not free at Pantai Dreamland and you can expect to spend 100,000 IDR for 2 hours rental costs.

When’s The Best Time To Visit Dreamland Beach?

You can visit Dreamland Beach and Bali Island at any time of year and have a great time. Even during the wet season, we get on average 9 hours of sun a day and it doesn’t rain all day long for days at a time.

However, it’s fair to say that it’s cooler, less humid and even sunnier during the dry season, so as long as you don’t mind paying a premium for your flights and accomodation, you might want to opt to visit Pantai Dreamland during the dry season.

What To Expect At Dreamland Beach

Dreamland Beach sits on the waters of the Indian Ocean which are blue and clear.

The limestone landscape that surrounds the white sand secluded from the rest of the island is very appealing and the limestone cliffs and their rugged charm look amazing in your Instagram photos from this awesome place.

It is a popular beach but it isn’t that crowded except during the middle of the day when the local luxury hotels seem to kick out and send folks scurrying for the sands for a couple of hours.

We would opt to come late in the day when the day trippers have mostly gone home and before sunset which is spectacular on this beach.

Grab a chair and some shade and enjoy a beer as the light breaks over the Indian Ocean and reminds you that you really are in paradise.

Things To Do At Dreamland Beach

Surfing

Dreamland Beach is a popular surfing point with fun waves and awesome reef breaks.

However, it’s important to keep a close eye on the tide warnings here as some days, the waves can get really rough and the riptide is outright dangerous.

Otherwise, the waves are usually suitable for nearly all levels of surfer and even beginners can have fun at Pantai Dreamland.

You can rent boards for around 50,000 IDR for an hour and lessons from the surf guides on the beach cost about 100,000 IDR per hour.

Swimming

As with surfing, you need to keep an eye out on the warning signs on Dreamland Beach before you swim but assuming everything is OK, it’s a great place for swimming.

When the waters are gentle, you will find plenty of people joining you for a dip to escape the blazing heat of the Bali sun for a while.

Sunbathing (Rent A Beach Umbrella)

There is almost no natural shade on Dreamland Beach and while it is awesome for sunbathing, you shouldn’t spend more than 15 minutes in direct sunlight.

So, please make sure to rent an umbrella to give you some shade and use a high SPF factor suncream (water-resistant if you intend to swim or surf) too. Burning is absolutely no fun.

New Kuta Beach Golf Course

FAQs

What Is The Nicest Beach In Bali?

There are so many beaches in Bali that we’re not qualified to announce “the nicest” or “the best”. However, it’s probably fair to say that Nusa Dua Beach is widely regarded as the nicest in Bali.

This is because it has soft white sand and the area has been brilliantly developed for high-end luxury tourism and appeals to families seeking to relax on beach loungers and enjoy tasty fine dining throughout their stay in Bali.

You don’t need to stay at a posh resort to go and enjoy the beach though. Nusa Dua Beach is open to everyone.

Can You Walk From Dreamland Beach To Bingin Beach?

Yes, however, you can only walk from Dreamland, Bali to Bingin Beach at low tide.

You can also walk to Balangan Beach at low tide. Make sure to check the tides and allow enough time to make the trek, it’s not a long walk but we wouldn’t want to tackle it when the water comes in.

Otherwise, you’re looking at a fairly long walk on the side of the road and we definitely wouldn’t recommend that.

Which Side Of Bali Has The Best Beaches?

The beaches of the Southern Bukit Peninsula are commonly regarded as the best in Bali (though there are plenty of other nice beaches in Bali).

That’s because they have nice sand and are amazing for swimming too. Beaches like Pantai Dreamland are a great example of this.

Which Beach In Bali Has The Clearest Water?

Virgin Beach is often considered to have some of the clearest water as for some reason the waters there tend to be free of any floating refuse.

However, there are plenty of other beaches in Bali with clear water and it’s impossible to define “the clearest water” in a meaningful fashion. Certainly, you will find that Pantai Dreamland has very clear water.

How To Book A Holiday Near Dreamland Beach Bali?

We always recommend that you book a holiday in Bali including one to Dreamland Beach through the awesome people at the Bali Res Centre.
