Munggu Beach is a less popular spot for sunset watching and surfing. A clean black sand beach with a Balinese temple that stays away from all the hustle and bustle and is great for some quiet time.

It is not yet a commercial destination, so no stalls, beach clubs, or shops right on the beach. Great spot to walk with your dogs, jog, bring kids, or do morning yoga.

The water here isn’t dirty, it is one of the cleanest beaches in South Bali to visit.

Munggu Beach is located right in between the Pererenan and Seseh areas, right at the end of the street Pantai Munggu, in Munggu Village of the Badung Regency.

It is a 20-minute ride from Canggu, you turn left at the intersection with a big Banyan tree, and just keep going till the end!

It often gets overlooked because people turn right from that road to go to Seseh Beach before they actually reach Munggu Beach.

It is very easy to find Munggu Beach, simply follow the Google Maps pin for Pantai Munggu (Munggu beach in Indonesian) and you will be able to park right by the beach.

You will be treated by a rock sculpture with the letters MUNGGU at the entrance to the beach.

The entrance to the beach is not disability-friendly, there are steps to get down to the beach.

Is There An Entrance Fee For Munggu Beach?

There is no official entrance fee to access the beach, but there is a parking fee of about 5,000 IDR for a motorbike and 10,000 IDR for a car.

Sunset, and right before, from 5 PM in the afternoon is the best time to visit the beach.

The most powerful waves are during the heavy rains from December to February, but the dry season is the best time to come to Munggu Beach for a quick surf session.

The two main activities to enjoy at the 500-meter-long Munggu beach are surfing and watching the sunset. The waves here are too strong to swim.

While this break is surfable, Munggu Beach is not that popular among surfers. They either prefer to go surfing in Canggu or explore breaks more to the West of Canggu.
