Kerambitan is a short drive from the West Coast of Bali in the Tabanan Regency. This makes it very near to the main beach towns of Canggu, Seminyak, Legian and Kuta.

How To Get To Kerambitan

If you’re coming from the main beach towns or from Ubud, you can use Grab or Gojek, the ride-sharing apps easily to find a ride to Kerambitan.

However, we would recommend that you arrange a return trip with the driver you use, this patch of land is far enough away from the tourist areas that getting home won’t be all that easy if you need to hail a ride from Kerambitan.

What’s The Best Time Of Year To Visit Kerambitan?

There is never a bad time of year to come to Bali and you can check the weather forecast nearly every day to find over 8 hours of sunshine a day in the rainy season and even more in the dry season!

Given that this is a village location, it won’t matter too much if it rains a little, but if you want to visit the nearby beaches, you may prefer to come in the dry season as the temperature is a little lower, it’s a bit less humid and there’s a pleasant onshore breeze.

Is There An Entrance Fee To Kerambitan Village?

No, there is no entrance fee to Kerambitan Village, however, you may be asked to pay a small entrance fee to any or all of the attractions in the village.

What To Expect At Kerambitan

Kerambitan isn’t the biggest village but it’s worth taking a stroll through the village itself which is full of cheerful and pleasant Balinese folk and their homes before visiting these places which are all open to tourist visits.

Puri Anyar Royal Palace Kerambitan

This palace, built in the 1600s, has recently been renovated and it’s a great place to learn about the history of the island. There are regular cultural events and dance performances held here. You can even meet members of the former royal family who are often happy to entertain visitors with stories about this place.

Puri Agung Kerambitan

A very attractive temple and also a former royal residence for the kings of Tabanan. There are almost no tourists around at this location and it’s the ideal place for a quiet family stroll with a camera.

Tista Tourism Village

Tista is right next door to Kerambitan and it’s dedicated to preserving the classical Balinese way of life to share with visitors to the island.

They offer plenty of tour packages here for local trekking, learning to play rindi musical instruments, Andir dance classes, and even some Balinese yoga lessons!

What’s Near Kerambitan?

There are three great beaches within a short drive of Kerambitan and they are:

Kelating Beach

This beautiful black sand beach reflects the sun’s rays and it’s truly stunning. Head down for sunset to catch the best light.

Pasut Beach

This exotic black sand beach is famous for the coconut palms that line the shore and it’s a great spot for a walk or sunbathing. However, be warned, there’s no car park at this beach.

Yeh Gangga Beach

Another excellent black sand beach which is quite secluded. There are some decent warungs nearby and you can find some great accommodation within walking distance of the sand here.

If you need a restaurant, you might need to travel a little from the main village but you can find plenty of family-run places that source their ingredients from the local markets not too far away including:

  • Warung Lumbung D’kangi – this family-run establishment has a beautiful view of the local rice fields and it does cheap but filling and tasty Indonesian food.

  • Warung D’Esa – the pork ribs here are to die for but everything on the menu is very good at this little warung.

  • J Terrace – another great place with a wonderful view over the rice fields, it serves a lovely buffet lunch most days.

  • Warung Andini – this pleasant family-run seafood restaurant has an excellent menu but the great food is occasionally overshadowed by the loud music they like to play here.

  • Warung Tulus Lobster – this beachside restaurant serves the freshest seafood and as the name suggests, their specialty is amazing lobster dishes.

What Is The Main Tourist City In Bali?

Most people don’t come to Bali to visit its cities. The capital city, Denpasar, is very much worth visiting but is not that popular with tourists and the second largest city, Singaraja, is in a part of the country that still doesn’t see too many tourists either.
