Manta Rays
The ultimate underwater adventure in Bali is swimming with the manta rays on the island of Nusa Penida. These incredible fish are gentle giants and they’re not stingrays, so there’s no risk to you.
The only bigger fish that you’re likely to encounter in this part of Bali are the Giant Sunfish (mola mola) but you have to learn to dive to see them as they’re 40 meters down.
Manta rays, on the other hand, are all around you at certain points on the coast of this small island.

Hot Springs
If you’re looking for a soothing and relaxing time as a family what could be better than sitting in a hot springs pool allowing the mineral waters to relieve all your aches and pains?

Tanah Lot Temple
We appreciate that not every teenager is likely to be a huge fan of temples, however, Tanah Lot is a bit different.
Firstly, it’s on an island offshore from Bali and you can’t actually go into the temple, the best time to visit is either in the evening as the sun sets and the temple is lit up by the spectacular light breaking over the ocean or in the morning when you can wade out to the island there.

Gili Islands
Technically, the Gili Islands aren’t in Bali at all, they’re part of Lombok which is the island next door to Bali. However, many people head out to these small islands from Bali, so they’re in our guide anyway.

Uluwatu Temple
Yes, it’s a temple but there are several good reasons that this temple is great for teenagers. Firstly, it’s in an amazing clifftop location where you can watch the surfers below.

Ubud Sacred Monkey Forest
Speaking of monkeys, the Ubud Monkey Forest is one of the most popular places on the island to meet monkeys and these are a little less larcenous than the ones at Uluwatu Temple.
