If you visit Bali for the first time, Uluwatu is a bucket-list destination. Centuries-old limestone cliffs towering over the crystal clear Indian Ocean, some of the best beaches, and an amazing food and surfing scene.
While it may not compete in shopping with cheap markets in South Bali or shopping malls in Kuta, Sanur and Denpasar, there are still a few top spots to spend money and buy souvenirs, beachwear, or little trinkets. And here are our favourite shopping gems in Ulu.
Where To Shop In Uluwatu: Our Favourite Stores And Markets
Drifter Surf Shop & Cafe
Iconic surf shop and cafe in Uluwatu with great coffee, breakfast and brunch options. You can come here to buy swimsuits, surfboards, and diving gear.
They host Drifter’s Market every Sunday, where surfers can buy and sell boards, too.
On a regular basis, they host mini art exhibitions, too, where you can discover local artists and vintage photos of Bali and even buy something.

Bingin Beach Area

Bingin Beach is one of our favourite beaches and a popular expat area to live in. The accommodation boom led to many cafes opening up, and now yoga studios, clothing and jewellery boutiques followed, like Muse, Cove, Meori, Rogue Cultr, and others.
If you’re staying in Bingin, you can easily access them all on foot and then stop to have a cup of coffee at Alchemy.
A bit outside Bingin, there is a popular cafe, Gooseberry, for breakfast and brunch, but they also have a fantastic lingerie store, also selling a bit of jewellery and swimwear for women.
Jalan Labuansait Shopping Street

This main street brings you to the Uluwatu temple and has lots of restaurants and shops. The best way to explore it is to start around Drifter and Bingin Beach and walk towards Padang Padang Beach, then make your way towards Uluwatu Beach.
One of the busier parts of this street is around Drifter, where you will find another famous surf shop – Channel Islands, an RVCA-branded store, and local mini food stores.
Another shopping stretch is around Ours Cafe and Ours Spa. Here you can find a few clothing shops like Ours, Indigo Luna, By The Sea Uluwatu, Vissla Surf Shop and some more stores for surfers and vacationers.
The last cluster of shops is right before Padang Padang beach, where you can buy body piercing, eyewear, and some essentials like a SIM card, but nothing fancy.
Exploring the whole street on foot under the hot Bali sun wouldn’t be the best experience. We would either do small bits every day for window shopping, and simply hire a driver or rent a car or a bike, and stop at a few stores to finally purchase all the items and bring them back to the hotel.
Mana Uluwatu
Mana Uluwatu is actually a restaurant and bar with delicious, creative cocktails and a pool with daybeds you can rent.
But we love their indoor store, which isn’t even tagged on Google Maps, selling really unique jewellery with pearls or precious metals, Balinese traditional patterned textiles, wooden kitchenware, and small souvenirs.
A great spot to buy high-quality gifts and souvenirs after dinner with an ocean view.

Ananda Soul Jewellery Store
One-of-a-kind store in Uluwatu that is worth mentioning. They sell spiritual jewellery made of gold-plated silver: earrings, rings, pendants, and also some clothing.
Why spiritual, you ask? Because each item is made in alignment with the lunar cycle, and to find the one best suited for you, you can do your moon phase test in-store at no extra cost.
Prices are pretty high, so it will probably only be worth buying as a gift.

Hatch Pop Up Sundaze Market
Sundaze Market runs every Sunday from 8 am to 5 pm at Hatch Uluwatu – bar and restaurant on weekdays – with handmade goods, local art, and live music. They switch vendors almost every Sunday, so you can visit a few times!
There’s also a BBQ, kids’ corner, and plenty of good vibes while you shop and support local Balinese makers.
Fair warning, the place gets pretty crowded on Sunday, parking is very limited, but the location is great – it is right across from Drifter. Price-wise, this market is a bit more expensive than markets in Kuta or Ubud.

Zen Bali Arts Studio and Gallery
A small family-owned art studio with colourful artworks following mythical, spiritual, and traditional Balinese themes.
You can purchase any work you like, and it will be delivered to your hotel already packed for safe travels. You could also sign up for a proper painting class by the artist Ketut himself.

Yeye’s Warung & Gift Shop
Amazing local eatery with cheap Indonesian food and drinks, and a tiny shop selling souvenirs like magnets, small carved masks, small figurines, and miscellaneous items.

ELCE Swimwear
The one-stop to buy your swimsuit, one-piece or something more revealing, is the ELCE shop around the Thomas Beach area.
They also sell simple casual clothes. A great shop for those who love simple, elegant clothing. The prices are quite high, though, as you can expect to pay 300 AUD for a two-piece swimsuit. To be fair, the sets last for years, and the service is really pleasant at the shop.

Jenggala
Although located outside the main Uluwatu area, the shop is almost an art gallery. They produce and sell ceramics and homeware inspired by Balinese and Indonesian culture and nature.
If you love cups, teapots, cute kitchenware and glassware, you have to visit! Prices are actually very reasonable, too, and you should watch out for any discounts; they often have them.
More to it, they offer international shipping, too, so you can shop now and receive it later at home!

Cute gift shop with small souvenirs for sale, you can easily pack them into your suitcase.
All the staples: wooden plates and bowls, woven items, baskets, natural soaps, candles and creams with tropical scents, incense, and more!

The Find Bali
The Find is a beautiful boutique near Uluwatu Beach offering such a wide range of products from essential oils and perfume to designer sandals.
The only downside is that many items listed on the website you may like are sold out. However, they still have plenty of homewear to choose from that go beyond typical Bali souvenirs.

Indosole
A very niche shop selling only thongs but with a big mission – all of the footwear they make is actually made of recycled materials like old tires or even plastic!
So if you’d like to contribute in some way, maybe a pair of sustainable flip-flops is exactly it!

Supermarkets In Uluwatu
Unfortunately, big supermarkets are quite far from the Uluwatu beach, so it will take a 20-minute ride to get there.
- You can shop like a local at Nirmala Supermarket Pecatu. They have fruit, rice, all basic ingredients for cooking and lots of household essentials. All at affordable prices. A great place to shop, closer to Uluwatu.
- More international-level supermarkets are located closer to Jimbaran and are called Pepito. There are Pepito Express, smaller shops, and regular supermarkets. You can buy decent meat there, and anything from milk and fruit to cat food.
FAQs
Which Part Of Bali Is Best For Shopping?
Canggu, Seminyak, Kuta, and Ubud are the best areas for shopping in Bali. There are dozens of boutique stores, markets, and even malls to purchase anything you need.
Is Uluwatu Expensive For Tourists?
Uluwatu can be expensive to stay and dine out, especially if you want to stay right on the cliffs or in a beachfront accommodation. However, the Bukit Peninsula is quite large and you can still find amazing affordable hotels, even with a spa that will be just a short ride from many other beaches besides Uluwatu or Bingin.
Food is still cheap if you go to a local warung (eatery); most of the cafes and coffee shops are priced the same way as places in Canggu or Seminyak (think about 3.5 AUD for coffee, 6 to 10 AUD for breakfast).
Of course, you have some fine-dining experience too, like dining in a cave, which will be significantly more expensive (around 200 AUD per person).
Is There Any Shopping In Uluwatu?
Yes, there are quite a few boutique shops in Uluwatu concentrated around Labuansait street and some supermarkets, but you will have a hard time finding art and clothing markets like in Canggu or Ubud.
The HB Art Market in Uluwatu is an option only if you are ready to haggle and don’t mind navigating a tourist trap.
Is Uluwatu Worth Visiting In Bali?
Absolutely! Uluwatu is an amazing destination in Bali that you can visit with a private driver or by renting a bike.
You will find spectacular sunset views from towering limestone cliffs, traditional kecak dance performances at Uluwatu temple, many cafes with panoramic views and world-class surfing.
Final Thoughts On Shopping, Uluwatu
While we can’t say that Uluwatu is Bali’s shopping capital, it makes up for it with its amazing scenery, chill vibes, and small pockets of boutique shopping.
Even if you don’t have time to explore other markets in South Bali, you will still be able to buy Bali-inspired souvenirs and locally made designer clothes in Uluwatu.
