What Not To Do After Midnight On New Year’s Day 2025
Before we get to what you should do, we have to note that there are some very misleading articles floating around on the internet about what to do for an after-party here in Bali.
We want to correct those ideas, immediately, as we don’t want anyone to be wandering around the island feeling lost and alone when they find those things aren’t happening.
Don’t go looking for late-night restaurants – there may be a few small warungs open but any major restaurant still open will be hosting the wind-down of their own New Year’s party. They won’t let people in at this time of night.
Don’t go looking for fireworks displays – there will be fireworks for NYE here in Bali but once the New Year begins, they will be well and truly over. Don’t go staggering through the sand trying to get to Seminyak or Uluwatu, it’s not worth it.
There are no pool parties after midnight – seriously, while some of the pool clubs and beach clubs are hosting NYE parties, they’re all over at 2 AM.
There are no karaoke parties after midnight – we suspect that some of the karaoke bars will be pretty raucous on their way towards the countdown and that they will be firmly closed as soon as that’s over.
There are no night markets to explore after midnight – by all means, enjoy the night markets on the 1st of January, but they won’t be open (at the very earliest) until the evening and given that New Year’s Day is a public holiday, they may not all be open even then.
Don’t try and climb Mount Batur to see the sunrise – sunrise at Mount Batur is amazing and it will be available on New Year’s Day. But… if you’ve been out partying until gone midnight, you’re not going to be in a good state to climb that mountain. Leave it until January 2nd.
OK, So What Should We Do For The After Party On New Year’s Day In Bali 2025?
You should go to Friends Bar, of course. Friends is within walking distance of FINNS – so you won’t need to get a taxi or a ride share, just pull up Google Maps and get some directions.
It’s about 15 minutes away, which will give you a chance to burn off some alcohol and be ready for more partying when you arrive.
Friends is where everyone in the know will be spending the early morning on New Year’s Day and you’re sure to have a great time.
