Best Family-Friendly Restaurants in Canggu

One big happy family

To be fair, most restaurants in Bali and Canggu have amazing laid-back dining options from beachfront cafes to upscale restaurants, and families are welcome everywhere – Indonesians absolutely love kids!

However, there are just a few cherries on top – venues with full-on playgrounds, nicest kids’ menu, and all the equipment parents with toddlers may need, like high chairs.

Mai Main Playground Canggu – by Wonderspace

Mai is today the largest and most diverse stand-alone playground and centre in Canggu with dozens of kids activities and play areas.

Kids love this place because here they can do anything: from dancing at the foam party and hopping on a train ride to feeding animals while parents sit down to relax or swim in the pool while the little ones enjoy their time with other kiddies.

The restaurant at Mai Main serves all the kids favourites but healthy style: chicken nuggets, pizza, spaghetti, mac’n’cheese, and, of course, ice cream, to name a few.

Made’s Warung

This OG Indonesian restaurant is tucked away from the main street in Canggu and has a nice playground and traditional Balinese dance performances every Thursday.

There are actually even 2 playgrounds: one outdoorsy one with swings and a slide, and one indoors for a rainy day (which can happen in Bali!). The indoor playground is more like a daycare with tons of things to climb on, and it has a reasonable fee, plus your kids need to have socks on!

Hiding from the busy Canggu, Jiwa Garden is a real eco-friendly and sustainable sanctuary here in Bali. They host workshops, participate in all important initiatives, and opened a restaurant and a kids’ play zone, too.

The playground is in the shade, which is very good with scorching Bali sun and offers the true experience in nature with sand and plants, swings and toys – expect to get a bit dirty! Older kids love the permaculture garden tour, where you can learn how to grow your own food.

Regarding food itself, the cafe serves farm-to-table vegetarian food, teas, and smoothies.

Note that opening hours are only from 8.30 AM to 4 PM, and they are closed on Sunday.
