FAQs

Can I Stay At A Surf Retreat If My Partner Is Surfing But I Am Not?

Yes, absolutely! Many surf retreats cater to both surfers and non-surfers. While your partner enjoys surf lessons, you can take part in a variety of other activities like yoga, meditation, snorkeling, or even cooking classes.

If you’re looking for a more relaxing experience, consider a surf and yoga retreat in Bali. This way, you can unwind with a yoga session while your partner catches some waves!

Do I Need To Be A Hippie To Take Yoga Classes?

Not at all, yoga is for everyone, regardless of lifestyle or background.

Whether you’re a seasoned yogi or a beginner, surf and yoga retreats are welcoming spaces where you can enjoy the life benefits of yoga, improved flexibility, balance, and mindfulness, and even better sleep, all of which can boost your energy levels and self-esteem.

Many people aren’t looking for a yoga retreat in Bali, but join in the yoga classes at their surf retreat and find that it’s very relaxing after a day on the waves.

It’s all about relaxation and personal growth, not fitting into a particular mould.

What Is The Best Time of Year to Surf in Bali?

Surfing is a year-round activity, but the best time to surf in Bali is typically during the dry season, from April to October.

During this time, you’ll experience consistent swells and clear skies, especially on the west coast. The rainy season, November to March, sees calmer seas and smaller waves, making it a good time for beginners or those looking for less challenging conditions.

However, keep in mind that the rainy season can bring heavy downpours, particularly on the east coast.

Is There An Age Limit On Who Can Take Surf Lessons?

There’s generally no age limit for surf lessons in Bali, and surf schools generally cater to people of all ages. Surfing requires a certain level of core strength, but as long as you’re in good health and physically able, you’re welcome to join in.

For older adults, private surf lessons are often recommended to ensure a more personalized experience and tailored coaching.

Always check with the surf retreat or surf school to confirm they can accommodate your specific needs!
