FAQs

Is It Expensive To Eat And Drink In Bali?

It very much depends on where you want to eat. Some of the best restaurants in Bali are fine dining experiences with a tasting menu, an à la carte menu, a seasonal tasting menu, and a wine list to rival the finest restaurants in the world.

You can find an El Bulli-trained chef, places with a Wine Spectator award and so on…

And yes, these places are quite expensive.

However, if you want local ingredients served at a Balinese restaurant specializing in modern dining with an attractive dining room and no tasting menus in sight, you will find things are rather more reasonably priced.

And if you’re happy to sit in a local warung eating fresh seafood, with rice and a crispy fried egg, you can pay as little as $2-$3 for a meal. With drinks costing around $1 as long as you’re not expecting a cocktail bar and are sticking to coffee drinks and other non-alcoholic options.

Where Is The Best Place In Bali For Culture?

Most people consider Ubud to be the best place in Bali for culture as it’s the “spiritual heart of the island.”

It’s also a great place to find a good Bali restaurant and experience every taste from honey-baked pumpkin salad to slow-cooked beef rendang or roasted Peking duck.

Final Thoughts On The Best Lunch Spot In Bali

Bali is an amazing island with an endless number of great lunch spots. Our list here is not an exhaustive one of every lunch spot on the island as that would be, at least, five hundred restaurants long but it should give you an idea of where to find the kind of food you want.

From fried noodles and grilled seafood with local flavors made from local ingredients to a romantic dinner of foie gras and ingredients from the chef’s rooftop hydroponic garden, you can find it all in Bali.

Depending on your budget you could take lunch in the main dining room of a fine dining restaurant or enjoy a dining experience unlike any other in the world of local dishes, authentic flavors, and ingredients from local farmers.

Whatever you choose, Bali’s best lunch spots will have something you adore.
