FAQs

Which Is The Best Area To Stay In Uluwatu?

There are three main tourist areas in Uluwatu and they are Bingin Beach, Padang Padang and Uluwatu Beach (Blue Point Beach).

They’re all pleasant places to stay in and they all have a decent range of accomodation from budget hostels to luxury hotels and villas.

However, if you want the “best” of these areas, it’s arguably going to be Binging Beach.

It’s the central part of Uluwatu and the beach has some gorgeous turquoise waters and white sands.

It’s a picture postcard-perfect spot for an island in paradise and it remains the preferred choice of surfers and other tourists alike.

It’s also very family-friendly and you can happily stay in this area for nearly any kind of holiday.

We’ve got a great guide on what the best things to do in Uluwatu are too.

Is It Worth It To Stay In Uluwatu?

That’s a good question and the answer is very much going to depend on you and what you’re looking for from a holiday in Bali.

Uluwatu is not as busy as areas like Canggu, Seminyak, Kuta or Legian and this may or may not be a good thing, depending on your tastes.

It is very spread out, however, and it’s not as easy to walk from place to place as you can in the more popular spots – that’s fine if you just want to spend all day in the best luxury hotels that you can find but less so if you want to get out and explore.

Ride-sharing apps do work in Uluwatu but there’s often a shortage of drivers, particularly at night and even the luxury resorts may have trouble finding you a taxi.

You can ride a scooter, of course, but we don’t recommend doing so. It’s not the safest form of transport and you need to be entirely road-legal to stay safe and insured.

That may mean that if you want to stay in this area, you need to hire a car and a driver, this won’t be a major issue if you’re staying at one of the best luxury hotels in Uluwatu, mind you, but might be a strain on the budget of folks staying in mid-range or basic accomodation.

If you don’t stay in Uluwatu, you should definitely visit to see the famous Uluwatu Temple, which is one of the most amazing sights on the island.

Where Is Better To Stay Uluwatu Or Nusa Dua?

Nusa Dua is all about finding the best luxury resorts and holing up in one of them.

It’s very popular with families seeking a beach to chill on and there’s not an awful lot to do in the surrounding area.

While there are also plenty of luxury hotels in Uluwatu, it tends to attract a younger crowd and, in particular, it appeals to surfers as some of the best surf breaks in Bali can be found here.

If you just want to chill out somewhere with luxury amenities, both areas are excellent places to stay and if you want to travel around, you’d need to hire a driver in both areas too.

What Is Better Uluwatu or Seminyak?

Seminyak is home to plenty of luxury hotels too but it’s got a very different vibe from Uluwatu.

Uluwatu is a chilled-out beach town that brings surfers and sunseekers to enjoy the surf and the vibe.

Seminyak, on the other hand, is all about fine dining and partying. It appeals to a young stylish set that loves to see and be seen as these sally forth into the Balinese sun.

They’re both great places to be but they definitely appeal to very different groups of people.

Which Is Better Uluwatu or Canggu?

We’ve got a full guide on Uluwatu Vs Canggu. In short, it depends on what you want from your Bali holiday and both areas definitely have plenty of things to recommend them.

How Do I Book A Trip To Uluwatu?

Whether you want luxury hotels in Uluwatu or something simpler, you want to call the Bali Res Center to book.

That’s because it’s a locally owned, operated and managed travel planning agency that has its finger on the pulse of all that’s going on in Uluwatu and the rest of the island.

They can get you very competitive pricing thanks to their local connections and you can ensure that your hard-earned money goes into the local economy and not the pockets of some offshore corporation.

We always recommend Bali Res Center because the service is excellent and they really know their stuff.

Final Thoughts On Hotels & Luxury Hotels In Uluwatu, Bali

There are so many luxury hotels in Uluwatu that you can’t really go wrong when it comes to booking a trip to this lovely surf town.

You’ll only be a short walk from the beach and the waters of the Indian Ocean wherever you are in town and every part of Uluwatu is chilled and relaxing.

The Uluwatu Temple which sits on the cliffs overlooking the local beach is a real highlight of any trip to Bali and if you’re not going to stay in Uluwatu you should visit.

If you’re looking to liven things up after a stay in Uluwatu, why not visit FINNS Beach Club? It’s the world’s best beach club and Canggu is not very far away by car.
