The Apurva Kempinski is so luxurious that some say it should be a 6-star resort. It’s in an amazing location on the Indian Ocean in Nusa Dua and a huge draw to the area.

Basilico Italian Pavilion @ Prama Sanur Beach Bali Hotel
If you’re in the mood for pizza or pasta on the beach, then you may want to head to Basilico in Sanur where you can enjoy a relaxing meal to the sound of the waves lapping the shoreline.
We opted for a wonderful mushroom risotto followed by a medium rare ribeye in a pepper sauce with the exact amount of spice that we love. We’ll be back again soon, for sure.

Ubud Homemade Resto @ KajaNe Mua
This place is a little off the beaten path despite being on the Monkey Forest Road and thus never seems to get the level of visitors that it deserves, which is a shame.
We love the food here and the cocktails are amazing too (it’s nice to see some fresh fruit in the daiquiri mix, for example). The garden setting is very pleasant and makes for a very relaxing visit.

This is a gorgeous restaurant in one of Ubud’s many upmarket resorts and there’s something on the menu to suit every taste no matter how fussy an eater you are.

If you want hearty Chinese fare for a reasonable price this hidden gem in Kuta is well worth a look. The food is delicious and the service is friendly and dedicated.

We’re big fans of the generous and super tasty breakfast buffet at the Waterfall restaurant but you can’t go wrong with the dinner menu which is all about showcasing local food.
We can’t get enough of their BBQ pork ribs (a Balinese specialty that you won’t be able to find in much of the rest of the archipelago) and their Nasi Goreng is memorable for all the right reasons too.

Kubu @ Mandapa – A Ritz Carlton Reserve
Mandapa is one of the best-known and highest-end resorts on an island with more $1,000 a night hotel rooms than anywhere else in the world and Kubu is its signature restaurant.
And it’s every bit as good as its reputation would suggest, you’ll be taken by buggy from the resort entrance through the jungle to the front door and then served a meal fit for kings. Highly recommended.
