How To Get To Angseri Hot Springs?
Because Angseri Village is quite a long way off the beaten path in Bali, your best bet for visiting the Angseri Hot Springs is to hire a private car and driver.
This isn’t expensive, you can easily spend a whole day in the country around Angseri Hot Spring for 500,000 IDR including driver, car and fuel money and once you’ve spent some time relaxing in the hot springs you can visit some of the other highlights in the area too.
You could, of course, take a Grab or Gojek to get to the hot spring but you will find that it’s very hard, if not impossible, to get home again afterwards as there will be very few drivers in the area when you finish enjoying the hot water and open pool area.
When Is The Best Time To Visit Angseri Hot Springs?
There’s no bad time of year to visit Angseri Hot Springs and you’ll find that whether you visit in the rainy season or dry season, that the water is warm and the bathing area is pleasant.
Of course, you might not want to bathe while it’s raining but it rarely rains all day in Bali.
Is There An Entrance Fee For Angseri Hot Spring?
Yes, the basic entry fee for Angseri Hot Spring is 10,000 IDR per person and this gives you access to the adults and kids pools.
You must bring your own towel and soap, however, as these are not provided and if you want your own pool then you can rent the private pool area. This gives you your own water area away from others.
You should be aware that there is a time limit on bathing and your entry fee covers a 30-minute dip.
What To Expect At Angseri Hot Springs?
There are two main pools at the Angseri Hot Springs which both provide access to the hot springs and their soothing mineral-rich waters.
This antique bath area hasn’t changed much since the hot springs first started being used decades ago.
The Angseri Hot Springs is very popular with Balinese people and this is very much a local experience, so don’t expect a smoothly oiled tourist machine, but rather an authentic public bathing area.
You can, of course, rent a private pool for your family if you’d prefer a little more privacy.
When you reach the car park, just follow the black and white signs to Angser Hot Springs, which are clearly labelled and are not a long walk from the parking area.
You can also rent one of the private cabins here if you want to get out of the fern trees, and water and head somewhere secluded. Just be aware that the private cabins are very basic – they’re not a 5-star luxury hotel standard by any means.
What To Do Near Angseri Hot Springs?
There are quite a few things to do in the area around Angseri Hot Springs and they include:
Leke Leke Waterfall – the most famous waterfall in the area and very popular but not so popular that it gets really crowded. There’s a Bali Swing on the way to the waterfall but it’s very expensive. The walk down to the waterfall is great and the onsite cafe is amazing.
Taman Satwa Tabanan (Tasta Zoo) – we wish we could be kinder about this place as we feel that most adventurous travellers would love to spend an entry fee for a relaxing day around wild animals. But this place simply doesn’t keep the animals well enough to be a perfect destination for anyone. There are two other zoos in Bali and they both do a much better job at caring for the creatures in them.
Hidden Garden Agriculture – this is a wonderful example of agrotourism done right. You get a full tour of the coffee gardens here, then you get to try a bunch of samples before you fulfil your obligation to buy a cup of coffee. You’re then free to browse the store and pick up any products that you want to but there’s no pressure to purchase anything.
Campuhan Antapan Waterfall – if you want an incredible secret waterfall in Bali, this is the place to go. Don’t let the sleepy location fool you, you’ll find an open pool at the bottom of the waterfall where you can swim. There are three distinct branches of water coming down from the cliffs above and you’re likely to have this place all to yourself. Just make sure to take your own towel to use in the bathing area here.
Cocoa Land Bali – if you love chocolate, you’ll love Cocoa Land which is a factory and chocolate production site. You can try all the flavours for free before you pick up a thing too!
Where To Eat Near Angseri Hot Spring?
There are a few places in the local area to eat around the hot springs too but they are mainly outside of Angseri Village and you’ll need to drive rather than walk to them.Â
Jati Wangi Luwak Coffee – this is a pleasant agro-tourism cafe that grows its own coffee. The kopi luwak here appears to be ethically produced.
Warung Theso – this is a simple local cafe serving Indonesian food and some decent coffee. It’s an ideal place for a quick snack on your way to the heart of the Tabanan Regency.
The Organic Farm & Cafe Bali – this is a hidden gem and one of the best places to eat around. All the food here is grown in the gardens that surround this lovely cafe.
Urutan Andus Jati – the most authentic place to try the Balinese sausage known as Urutan Asap. It’s so good!
Warung Bamboo Becing – a simple family-run roadside warung offering up basic Balinese dishes for a low price.
Where To Stay Near Angseri Hot Spring?

Pinge Traditional Village and Homestay – if you want to stay in a traditional Balinese home and compound this is a great place to do so.
Kamanicamp – a pleasant but basic glamping site with some need of maintenance. The views are great and the food is good but your tent might leak a little.
Nadi Nature Resort – a great resort that is designed to make you feel like you’re living without walls. The views from the mountain are amazing and you’ll sleep very well here.
Puku Pods – a decent glamping and camping site with reasonable facilities and an emphasis on comfort in nature. It’s great value for money.
