Uluwatu Nightlife Guide 2026: The Best Of The Bukit Scene

Uluwatu has come a long way in the last few years, and if you’re in search of half-price cocktails, beer pong, live music, pool tables, bottle service or a dance floor, you’re not going to have any problem finding exactly what you need.

The only challenge is that Uluwatu bars and clubs tend to be quite spaced out, and while sipping cocktails for Sunday sessions or enjoying sunset drinks is easy, if you like to bar hop, you’re going to need to engage the services of Grab or Gojek.

So, without further ado, we’ll introduce you to the best places to party in the area, then we’ll look at what you can do on the nights when you’d prefer to avoid alcohol in Uluwatu.

The Best Nightclubs And Bars On The Uluwatu Nightlife Scene

Cafe La Pasion

Cafe La Pasion

Who doesn’t love some reasonably-priced food? Arrive early on a Tuesday and enjoy the amazing Taco Tuesday for some of the best and cheapest food in the area.

You can also jump in the pool for free, listen to regular live DJs (electronic music or jazz), and they sometimes have open-air movie nights too! You can’t go wrong at this spot.

Cashew Tree

During the day, this is very much a family-friendly option, but in the evenings, they often have live acoustic music where you can kick back with some cocktails and let the world go by.

The happy hour runs from 4 to 6 p.m. every day, and they do some excellent food too (our team swears by the beef rendang, which is some of the best we’ve ever tasted).

Rock Bar: Ayana Resort

Rock Bar Ayana Resort

Rock Bar is not for those on a budget; it’s nestled in the very upmarket AYANA resort complex, and there’s no rock music in sight; it’s actually named after a rock formation on the beach.

The restaurant tables here do require a minimum spend for people who aren’t hotel guests, but it’s still considered one of the best bars in the area thanks to the sunset view.

Rolling Fork Padang Padang

Rolling Fork Padang Padang

This is a splendid Italian restaurant which isn’t the first place that comes to mind for nightlife, but on Tuesdays, if you enjoy special events, it hosts some wonderful salsa dancing.

The fun starts at 9.30 p.m. and ends as the clock strikes midnight. They also have some live acts on Fridays to see in the weekend in style.

The Saloon Of The Saltwater Cowboys

The Saloon Of The Saltwater Cowboys

The surf community spends a lot of time in this bar, and that’s probably thanks to the regular free tattoo promotions they run.

If you’re in the mood for live tunes, BBQ food and a really laid-back old-school Bali vibe, then this is definitely a place for you.

Bench Brewery Uluwatu is the place to go when you want craft beer, and if you love live music, they have an excellent band every Saturday.

It’s also a sports bar, so if you want to catch up on the action from your favourite sport, it’s probably being shown on a screen or two in the bar.

We like to hit the pool table on Monday night, as there’s always a bottle of decent top-shelf spirits to be won at this bar.

They have an all-day happy hour, and you’ll find that everyone here is very friendly. If you don’t enjoy pool, there are some decent dartboards here, too.

Gabet’s Pub

Gabet's Pub

We love this place, it’s a classic pub in the heart of the area and the music is very much classic pop and rock, which makes a pleasant change from all the electronic tunes elsewhere.

They have karaoke rooms if you fancy being the entertainment for the evening, and they are also one of the few places with Guinness on tap.

Urban Beats Uluwatu

Urban Beats Uluwatu

This place is a pool bar, with a sort of nightclub and a sort of restaurant attached to it. It tends to attract small groups who are looking to relax and unwind, and maybe even sing a little karaoke.

It’s one of the most musically diverse spots in Bali and there’s something different on every single night of the week, so no matter what you’re into, you can have a great time here.

Club Corazon Bali

Club Corazon Bali

The week starts out easy at this small nightclub with Latin Rhythms on Monday nights. Then they switch things up all week long with Reggaeton on Tuesdays and then more popular mainstream dance music at the weekends.

There is a cover charge here, but it’s only about 150,000 IDR most nights (about $10 USD or $15 AUD) so it shouldn’t break the bank.

Tabu Supper Club

Tabu Supper Club

This Japanese-Latin fusion place transforms into a pseudo-nightclub in the later parts of the evening, and while you won’t find many famous international DJs here, they do seem to get some excellent talent on the decks.

The biggest party of the week here is on Friday night, and the dance floor is absolutely heaving.

White Rabbit Cocktail Bar

White Rabbit Cocktail Bar

This is a very upmarket cocktail bar that also has a big influencer following. They really are superb mixologists, and it’s very much worth a visit.

However, it’s not the cheapest spot, and it’s easy to end up with bill shock at the end of the night, given how easily these drinks slip down.

Things To Do In Uluwatu At Night That Aren’t Focused On Partying

Uluwatu Temple: The Kecak Fire Dance Show

Urban Beats Uluwatu

Probably the most famous destination on the Bukit Peninsula is the incredible Uluwatu Temple, which guards Bali from the sea and is home to some of the world’s most larcenous monkeys.

And if you arrive in the early evening time, you will find it’s a go-to spot for a very different style of entertainment, the world-famous Kecak Dance.

This exciting fire dancing display takes place on the cliffs above the ocean at sunset, and you can feel the ocean breeze on your face as you admire the skill and passion of the dancers.

The dance lasts for roughly an hour, and you will need a ticket (which can be purchased in advance) for just 150,000 IDR (that’s around $10 USD or $15 AUD).

Open Air Movie Nights

Open Air Movie Nights

You can enjoy movie nights showing classic movies on the cliffs above the beach at Labuansait every Tuesday at 6.45 p.m. (the movie starts as soon as the sun goes down).

There’s no charge to watch the movie, but you do have to agree to a minimum spend of 500,000 IDR to sit on the furniture on the ocean deck to watch the show; this can be spent on food and drinks.

Chilling At Istana

Chilling At Istana

The Istana Clifftop Spa and Restaurant offers absolutely unparalleled views at sunset. There’s no loud music, and you won’t need to be plugged into your smartphone.

Instead, you can enjoy a refreshing dip in the pool, relax on the grassy lawn, and take part in a sauna for a fixed price of 150,000 IDR from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. every night.

The Barong Show At Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park (GWK)

GWK cultural park is always worth a look in when you’re on the Bukit Peninsula, and this dance performance, which takes place at 7 p.m. every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, is a particular highlight of the place.

Go early and enjoy the largest statue on the island, and some local food, and then settle in for an epic dance performance telling stories of Hindu and Balinese myth.

FAQs

Is Uluwatu Good For Nightlife?

Yes, Uluwatu is good for nightlife. However, while the Uluwatu beach clubs might be crammed into a fairly small area, the nightlife is not. You will find that bars and pubs in this area are often miles apart and that pub crawls aren’t the way forward.

So, we’d suggest you decide where you want to witness the Bali sunset from and then settle in for a night of fun and frolics with friends at a single venue.

Is There A Main Strip In Uluwatu?

Uluwatu Nightlife Guide

No, not really, Uluwatu is a big area, and it has no real centre, and thus, there’s no main strip. The busiest single road in the area is Jalan Labuansait, which is near Pantai Padang Padang, and there are some surf shops, boutique stores, cafes and restaurants in the area. But it’s not set up for a pub crawl.

There are also other minor hubs in the areas around Suluban Beach and the Jalan Raya Uluwatu strip, but again, you’re not likely to find places within staggering distance.

Which Area Has The Best Nightlife In Bali?

Canggu is, in our opinion, the best place for nightlife in Bali. While it faces some stiff competition from neighbouring Seminyak, we think Canggu has the broadest range of things to do at night and a lot of choice in how to do them. Most of all, you can enjoy Canggu much more easily than Seminyak if you have a tight budget.

From the mighty FINNS Beach Club on the sands of Berawa Beach, where Bali’s best parties are had every day from 11 a.m. to midnight, to Vault or Atlas Superclub for high-end nightclubs that run all night, to Old Man’s and Sand Bar, where you can hit the dance floor without spending very much, there’s something for everyone in Canggu.

It’s also much more walkable than places like Uluwatu, and you can enjoy a proper bar crawl in Canggu after catching the sunset theatre by the Indian Ocean with a few cocktails. You can explore and find everything from bottle service on a luxury daybed or enjoy craft beers at one of the island’s best breweries, to humble warungs serving local food and a few drinks at bargain basement prices.

Is Seminyak Better Than Uluwatu?

No, Seminyak is not better than Uluwatu, it’s just different. Uluwatu tends to attract surfers, and the Uluwatu surf community is legendary with action around places like Dreamland Beach, Melasti Beach, and Uluwatu Beach, which you can enjoy from the Uluwatu cliffs if you don’t surf yourself.

It’s very spread out, though, and while you can party into the early hours, it’s not your typical party spot.

Seminyak, on the other hand, is all about gym culture, fashion boutiques, fine dining and some of the best bars on the island. It’s a place where you can enjoy stunning sunset views and then wander between well-known bars, enjoying signature cocktails and deep house beats. It’s also one of the most expensive parts of Bali.

Final Thoughts On Uluwatu Nightlife

Uluwatu Nightlife Guide

Uluwatu has some catching up to do when compared to Canggu, Seminyak or even Kuta in the nightlife stakes, but it’s way better than it used to be, and you can have some great nights out on the Bukit Peninsula if you know where to go.

And that’s where our list comes in, whether you’re in the mood for house music, VIP tables, and posh drinks at Rock Bar or some simple, reasonably priced Mexican food and drinks with a happy hour at something a little less upmarket, Uluwatu’s got you covered.
