This place is more than just a market; it’s also one huge local restaurant. You will notice people cooking in warungs around the market: grilling fish, crabs etc and that’s because as well as just selling the seafood, this market has people ready to prepare and cook your food for a small price.

The vendors here will sell anything from kilos of shrimp to a single crab, just look around and see what you like, when you’ve decided you can ask the price and if you’re happy then make your purchase.

After this, head over to one of the small warungs in and around the market and ask them to prepare your meal and what the price will be. The price to BBQ your food is around 20k IDR per KG.

The people here know exactly how everything needs to be prepared and cooked, and it’s not all just grilled seafood, we saw one stall cooking a fish soup, which we had a taste of, and it was one of the most delicious dishes we ate there.
