If you thought that because Bali is a Hindi island, you wouldn’t be able to find a decent steak restaurant, think again.
We’ve had probably the best steak of our lives in Bali. Whether you want bone-in rib eye, dry-aged beef, a tasty strip loin, or tomahawk steaks served medium rare, they’ve got it here.
In fact, the selection of premium meats on offer at some of the fine dining establishments here would take some beating anywhere in the world.
Our 30 best steakhouses in Bali consist of specialist steakhouses and places that make a great steak combined with wholesome local ingredients sourced from Balinese farms.
There’s something for every occasion and every budget. Everyone can enjoy steaks in Bali and meat lovers will know that this really is a paradise island when they’ve tried every place on this list.
Our 30 Best Steakhouses In Bali
Valle Canggu
Valle has only recently opened its doors to deliver a dinner setting that brings the taste of Spain to Balinese shores. Head Chef Daniel brings plenty of experience from his previous roles at Bambu Restaurant Petitenget and Revolver Group and it shows in his ribeye and sirloin steaks which are cooked to perfection.
Of course, if you’re really feeling carnivorous, you could try the Brazilian BBQ Platter which brings a whole lot of grilled premium meats to the table at an unbeatable value for money price of just 399,000 IDR ++. There’s enough for 2 or 3 to share!
This new addition to the dining scene is a very welcome one and we were impressed by the free glass of wine with every main course purchased and excellent selection of cocktails to wash down our meals with.
The location with its private pool is very attractive too and you’ll find yourself wishing that you could stay just a little longer, when you dine here.

Blossom Steakhouse
There’s a new great steakhouse on the island – Blossom Steakhouse. It’s headed up by Chef Brenton who won the prestigious Chef Hat Award for his work in Melbourne, Australia.
If you’re in the mood for perfectly seasoned meat, cooked just the way you like it, in an amazing environment, you’re going to love Blossom.
They source their meat from around the world and the Japanese steaks, in particular, are unique cuts that you’ll be dying to try as soon as you see them. The 300g Wagyu MB5 Tokusen Rib Eye Off The Bone is a steak like you’ve never encountered before.
Their cocktail menu is very tempting and the wine list is excellent. The wait staff will be delighted to walk you through the best pairings. This is affordable luxury in a sublime location with breathtaking beach views.
Blossom represents a first class addition to the steakhouse scene here on the island and we’re salivating just at the prospect of a return trip.

Boy N Cow
Boy N Cow literally describes itself as the “first meat boutique” in Bali and we can’t disagree with that assessment.
They’re serious about their steaks here and their dry-aged meats are ridiculously good. They source their meat from across the globe but they do all the dry-aging on site in Bali.
It’s not cheap, but you wouldn’t expect steaks of this quality to be cheap anywhere on the planet.
The marbling in our rib eye was absolutely perfect and the whole thing just melted in the mouth. It was a carnivore’s moment of glory, in fact.
They also make an excellent cocktail and their cocktail lounge is swanky and swish and the ideal place to relax after gorging yourself on cow.

The Grumpy Butcher
This smokehouse and BBQ restaurant knows how to make an amazing steak too and the tenderloin is one of the best steaks in Bali for sure.
They use their own barbeque sauce and if you love to dip your meat in a juicy, sweet, smoky sauce, you will be in seventh heaven here.
My partner went with the pork ribs which were smoky and just fell off of the bone. They may be the best pork dish in Bali.
Like many other diners at The Grumpy Butcher, we were really impressed by the standard of service which was friendly and welcoming and still efficient and sensibly paced.
You don’t have to leave vegetarian or vegan friends out on a trip here, either, they’re happy to amend menu items to make them meat-free when required.

Batubara Wood Fire
Meat lovers are guaranteed to love the steaks at this Argentinian-themed restaurant. They use an exclusively wood-fired grill and it ensures that they have the smokiest steaks in Bali.
We love that they are committed to delivering organic produce and you can look forward to free-range pork ribs, grass-fed beef, and much more.
Batubara Wood Fire is an awesome place to eat and we love the way they go with family-style meals in this elegant restaurant.
However, some of the wait staff could use bringing up to speed, they all know “medium rare” but it took a little bit of explaining that we’d like one of our steaks cooked blue.
We were very impressed with the end result, mind you, and the desserts here are suitably decadent to round the night off perfectly.

DAVA Steak & Seafood Restaurant @ AYANA Resort Bali
This lovely place is one of the signature restaurant offerings of the luxury AYANA resort and it opens from 6 p.m. every day for a sunset drink before the main event.
Their team works tirelessly to source the best ingredients from around the world and in addition to some of the best steak in Bali, they have some of the finest lobster too.
The views over the garden from here are just lovely once the sun goes down and it’s gently lit by the resort’s subtle lighting.
The prices here reflect that it’s based in a luxury hotel but DAVA is a real boon to the culinary scene in Bali, the food is excellent and the service is every bit as good.
If you’re celebrating a special occasion, please let them know in advance, they’ll go all out to make things memorable for you.

Happy Cow Bali – Jimbaran
Not every steakhouse needs to be a signature restaurant in a luxury hotel, mind you.
Some of the best steaks in Bali come from little halal places like the Happy Cow Bali.
They’ve made their name serving family-style meals for meat lovers made from wholesome local ingredients sourced from farms in Bali.
You won’t spend a fortune here and you won’t find any premium wet-aged cuts either, but what you will get is tasty and filling and great value for money.
If your dream night out consists of a huge porterhouse steak and some decent wine, this is a great place to make it happen.

Tokyo Skipjack Seminyak
Tokyo Skipjack is often quite a quiet place which is odd given how good the steaks are and how busy some much poorer places on the culinary scene here are.
However, if you want steaks in Bali that have been lovingly prepared and without having to take out a second mortgage to pay for them, this is a great option.
We like that they offer such a wide range of sauces to accompany your meal.
It’s good to be able to dip your steak into a variety of flavours, it makes it feel like you got a lot of dishes for the price of one.
The environment is open air on a floor above street level and it’s pleasantly cool on a hot Bali evening.

The Grill @ Luxe
ou know you’re in for some of the best and most expensive steaks in Bali when they put “Luxe” in the name of the establishment.
It’s money well spent though we can assure you of that.
When you arrive at this hotel, you cannot drive directly to the restaurant as it has a secluded location in the local fields.
You can either walk (it takes about 20 minutes) or ask them to provide a scooter transfer to get you there faster.
We opted to walk, this part of Ubud is too beautiful not to see it properly.
We went with a dry-aged premium T-bone with a black pepper jus and a tender lamb rack that was absolutely amazing.
But we’re pretty certain that everything prepared in-house here is going to be fantastic. It’s that kind of place.

Salazon Bali
If you want some premium wet-aged A5 wagyu beef then you’re going to be very happy at Salazon Bali.
This popular steakhouse in Bali uses the highest quality ingredients from sustainable farms to create epic meals.
The dry-aged beef here is also excellent and their tomahawk steaks served with a black pepper jus is a real winner.
One of our closest friends recommends their dry-aged beef tartare which he says is extraordinary.
We weren’t just impressed with these steaks in Bali, mind you, we alos loved the cocktails and they make one of the finest negronis on Earth.

Henry’s Grill & Bar
Henry’s is in one of the busiest malls in Bali and it’s all too easy to miss when you’re surrounded by plenty of solid dining choices.
However, for a mall-based steakhouse, this is a very good place to eat and you’d be better off ignoring the more brash places and heading straight here.
The welcome from the staff is always cheery and makes you feel right at home inside the somewhat traditional interior.
They do an excellent tenderloin delivered medium rare as expected and requested.
In the evening, they also have a live band that regales the diners with excellent renditions of hits from days gone by.
We really enjoyed our meal at Henry’s and the total cost was extremely reasonable too.

Uma Garden
Returning to a world of fine dry-aged meats and premium steaks in Bali, we find ourselves at the lovely Uma Garden.
As you’d expect from the name, Uma Garden, it’s in an actual rustic garden and the tropical green is a very pleasant accompaniment to the meal.
If you love their freshly served dry-aged steaks at Uma Garden, you might want to visit them on Sunday for brunch too. Uma Garden has live acoustic music for that.

Bali Black Stump Restaurant
This is one of Kuta’s most popular places and it’s a solid steakhouse in Bali, for sure.
You can take a large party here and they’ll be only too happy to accommodate.
One note of caution though, they tend to aim to undercook their meat slightly here which can upset some folks.
Please Note: As we go to press this restaurant is temporarily closed for refurbishment. Please make sure that you contact this restaurant before you travel to get a table.

Holycow! Steakhouse By Chef Afit
This may be one of the best value-for-money steakhouses anywhere in Bali. It’s a fully halal place and that’s fine by us.
Their medium rare wagyu beef is very tasty and we enjoyed the mushroom sauce that they paired it with, very much, indeed.
Oddly, the one thing missing from the menu here is a salad. So, if you have vegan or vegetarian friends with you, you might not want to come here.

Bulls Head Steakhouse
The owner, Chris, is always friendly and welcoming and happy to chat with any diner who wants a little conversation with their steak.
It’s a rare find in Jimbaran where the emphasis tends to be on fish rather than a good steak or a tender lamb rack.
The wine list is very decent too and quite affordable but the Bintang is so cold and refreshing, you might just want to stick to the beer here. As yo

The Butchers Club Steakhouse Bali
As you might expect The Butchers Club Steakhouse is all about excellent dry-aged meats prepared in-house with real love and attention to detail.
Surprisingly, it’s very reasonably priced too and while the steaks compete with the best steakhouses on the island, the bill at the end of the night is not so hardcore.
It’s also one of the most family-friendly environments on this list and your kids will be very welcome here.

Puerta 26 Dry Aged Beef Steakhouse
A Spanish steakhouse in Bali? Yes, that’s exactly what you can find at Puerta 26.
Their meat comes from both Spain and Argentina and it’s dry-aged but we’re not sure whether that’s done in-house or not.
We have to say though that their chimichurri sauce is absolutely outstanding and our dry-aged steaks tasted amazing for it.

The Plantation Grill @ Double Six Luxury Hotel
The Plantation Grill is one of the most iconic members of the Bali steakhouse scene and there’s no doubt that a visit to The Plantation Grill is going to make any meat lover very happy, indeed.
The dry-aged steaks at The Plantation Grill are always the star of the show and they’ll be cooked to order and to perfection, guaranteed.
Last time we visited The Plantation Grill, they had an opera singer entertaining the guests, which was almost as good as our dry-aged rib eye.

There aren’t a huge number of steakhouses to choose from in Tulamben and the best of the bunch if Chops and Hops.
Don’t expect fancy dry-aged beef but do expect tasty fare that has been properly seasoned and cooked to perfection.
We love the casual dining environment here and the semi-open dining area is attractive and enjoyable to be in.

WAH Republic
It might be pushing the boundaries of the term “steakhouse” to include WAH Republic on this list but given that the food is both tasty and super cheap – we’re going to push that boundary.
Expect no dry-aged finesse here, however, they’re all about hamburger steaks and they do them very well, indeed.
It’s a great spot for a cheap lunch in Denpasar with friends rather than somewhere to go to impress a date.

Terrazza Steak House Bali
If you want the best steak in Denpasar, you may well find it at Terrazza Steak House.
They use imported Australian beef which is tender and tasty and it’s very reasonably priced (it might even be cheaper than it is in Australia at the supermarket, in fact).
Their salmon steaks are pretty good too. However, the star of the show is their ice cream volcano which takes some beating.

Barrels by Javanegra
This steakhouse meanders between Spanish classics and Balinese takes on dishes.
You can enjoy an excellent sirloin cooked perfectly, alongside some beef or pork satay and have a nasi goreng too.
We were also impressed by the cocktail menu and the drinks were strong and generous, rather than watered down as they so often are in Bali.

Ikimura

We think if McDonald’s had been a Japanese steakhouse rather than an American hamburger joint, Ikimura is what would have been born.
There are no frills at this place and the steaks are cheap and tasty if not the finest cuts of meat in the history of the world.
It’s the kind of place you go to with a few colleagues at lunch rather than for a long evening meal. And that’s just fine.

Kayu Bakar Berawa
This European-inspired steakhouse in Denpasar does an excellent sirloin and some super tasty Thai beef.
You’re not going to be blown away by their dry-aged meats as they don’t have any but what they do have is well-prepared and tasty.
Their chocolate fondant desserts are pretty darned good too.

The Clubhouse Steak Grill & Sports Bar

This is an Australian-owned place that prides itself on ensuring that the residents of Sanur can always keep up with the AFL and NRL.
It’s quite humble inside but their imported steaks are the real deal and you won’t find better steaks in Bali for this price (or at least, not in Sanur).
And as you’d expect from an Australian-owned place, the beers here are the coldest beers around.

Brazillian Aussie BBQ @ Seminyak
If you’ve ever been to a Brazilian BBQ before you’ll know what to expect here – meat, meat and more meat and it’s a glorious thing to behold.
Their steaks and other meats are very good and there’s an unlimited quantity of them on offer.
However, don’t go expecting great salads, because this is really a place for meat lovers, the rabbit food is more for show than for consumption.

Moo Moos Steakhouse Bar & Grill
If you want a simple steak in Legian, then Moo Moos is a great place to have it.
They use smokeless grills because of the location but they do a decent premium t-bone and the beer was nice and cold too.
Our only complaint is that the portions feel a bit stingy, we’d like to see more on the plate even if we have to pay a little more for it.

Brazilian Aussie BBQ @ Lippo Mall Kuta
As with their sister restaurant over in Seminyak, this place is all about meat too.
The picanha is absolutely excellent and we were really impressed by the generous portions of everything we ordered.
The desserts are pretty good too and nobody went home from this Brazilian BBQ feeling hungry.

Oak Restaurant Bali
This is a decent steakhouse in one of the smaller hotels in Kuta. If you want a quiet place to go for a solid steak then you can do much worse than here.
It’s comfortable and the service is very professional. It probably won’t ever win any awards, but the sauces are good and the steaks are tender.

Tutto by TuttoBono Ristorante Lounge & Bar
Tutto has changed its market space over the years, it was once one of the most premium places in Denpasar and it was, also, once quite empty.
Now, they’re more of a mid-market place and they’re thriving for it. You can get a tasty steak here cooked to perfection for a reasonable price.
Just don’t expect dry-aged wonders or free-range pork with Chinese apple or anything fancy. This steakhouse in Bali is too grounded for that.
