Our 20 Favourite Restaurants In Singaraja, Bali

There are plenty of great places to eat in Singaraja serving local dishes and amazing Indonesian cuisine as well as a wide selection of international fare.

However, this is the real Bali and the internet is not a primary concern for businesses in Singaraja, so don’t be put off by the lack of websites and Instagram pages, it has no impact on the food.

Alam Sambangan – The Secret Valley Club

This is in a very beautiful location among private villas and it offers picnic-style dining which is a real treat for locals and visitors alike.

They’re all about fresh food which combines local dishes and international flavours and there’s a pretty decent bar available too.

Best of all, when you eat here, you get access to the poolside club here which means you can swim after coffee and a quick bite, which is a big win.

They also offer onsite cooking classes where guests get to try their hand at making everything on the menu and then, after you’re done, you can eat the fruits of your labours, which is awesome.

Warung Apple is named after its owner, Apple, who always greets guests personally and helps to walk them through the menu.

You can expect great seafood and Indonesian cuisine at this place and it’s a taste of the real Bali. Everything is served impeccably presented and it’s one of our favourite places to eat in Lovina for a good reason.

Warung Tomat is where you head when you want a wide selection of Italian food in Singaraja. The area doesn’t have too many Italian places to eat but this one is more than enough, it’s excellent.

Their homemade pasta is some of the best on the island and their pizzas are tasty and filling too.

The owner will usually be on hand to regale you with fascinating stories pertaining to Bali and his excellent food.

Barakuda Restaurant

This very simple roadside warung mainly caters to locals but if you make a trip to Barakuda, you won’t be disappointed.

It really is one of the best places to eat in the area and they even offer cooking classes for you to learn to make local dishes. Ignore the slightly shabby exterior, it’s very pleasant inside.

If you opt for dinner at this cafe in Bali, be sure to know that it’s going to take a while for the dishes to end up on your table, this is one of the most relaxed warungs on the island when it comes to service.

However, the food is worth the wait and whatever they are lacking in the waiter department, they’re making up for in the kitchen. Everything here is delicious.

If you want to try Mahi Mahi in Bali, then Barclona (yes, it’s not Barcelona) is a great place to do it. It’s a family-run restaurant with a real passion for local seafood.

The service is super attentive and the prices are very affordable. It’s one of our top places to eat for a family meal in this corner of Bali.

Warung Lina

We couldn’t believe the prices at Warung Lina, we ordered four dishes and the bill came in at under 60,000 IDR (that’s $4 USD or $6 AUD)!

Yes, if you want cheap and tasty Balinese vegetarian food, you can’t go wrong here and you won’t want to miss out on their amazing fried rice dishes.

Warung Pencar Bali Barat

If you’d like to try Bali’s answer to fish and chips, then Warung Pencar Bali Barat is one of the best places to eat it.

The breaded fish is succulent and oh-so flavourful and we couldn’t get enough of it. The seafood platter is also excellent and very good value for money.

Shri Ganesh Restaurant

If you want a place where you can get a wide mix of cuisines then Shri Ganesh might be where you want to visit.

We had an excellent steak here and their Chinese food is also first-rate. If you’re staying locally, then Shri Ganesh is happy to arrange to have you picked up from and dropped at your accommodation as part of the meal price too!

If you want to try Siobak, a sweet-sour pork dish that originates in Singaraja, then this is the go to place for it – they also make some amazing pork sausages.

Be warned though, they get a lot of visitors at lunch and dinner servings and you want to get there early to make sure of getting served. The on-site parking is quite limited too.

This is a lovely cafe in a private villa complex of the same name. It’s set a little out of town in the rice fields with a waterfall view from one side.

It’s only open for breakfast and lunch, though, so make sure to visit them earlier in the day rather than later.

Deutsches-Eck Rikesti

German food in the heart of Singaraja? Yes, indeed. This is one of the best German meals we’ve had here on the island, in fact.

The spaetzle is really good and the goulash is even better. Given that one of our party is from Germany, when he says it’s authentic, it really is. Yum.

If you want some Chinese-Indonesian food, you can’t do better than the Restoran Gandi which offers generous tasty portions for a sensible price.

Cozy Resto

It looks a little basic, but there’s a pleasant outdoor terrace where you can enjoy a meal without interruption by traffic noises, etc.

Cozy Resto is our go-to place in Singaraja for spicy Indonesian food and you will never forget the awesome chilli burn of the dishes here.

Loving Hut

This is part of a chain, though one that you don’t see many outlets of in Bali. It’s 100% vegetarian and incredibly cheap.

Like most chain restaurants, service is basic and there’s not much atmosphere, but if you’re hungry? Who cares?
