If you’re bringing kids to Bali, it makes sense to find a place where they can play, learn and have fun while you enjoy the sun, sea and surf of this paradise island.
But which places have the best kids clubs? We sent out our intrepid team to find out for you and we came up with a list of the absolute best kids clubs on the island.
What Makes For A Good Kids Club?

It’s about giving your kids a wide-range of stuff to choose to do. A club shouldn’t pop your little one in front of the TV all day, there should be arts, crafts, spots, outdoor playgrounds, indoor playgrounds, dance lessons, maybe a baby pool, that kind of thing.
They’ve also got highly trained staff, a secure and safe space and usually expertise in dealing with a range of children’s ages to help keep the whole family happy.

Where Are These Kids Clubs?

The majority of all the kids clubs in Bali are in the Southern Beach Towns of Canggu, Sanur, Seminyak, Kuta, Legian, Jimbaran, Uluwatu, Pecatu, Ungasan and Nusa Dua.
That’s because most families who come to Bali want to spend, at least, some of their time on the sand and enjoy the beautiful ocean here.
You will also note that kids clubs tend to be in high-end luxury hotels, there are daycare, babysitting and other childcare facilities on the island for those who’s budget doesn’t stretch to a luxurious Nusa Dua Beach Resort and some of the kids clubs do accept walk-in guests for the day.
That means you can drop the kids off at the club and then enjoy the dining, bar and sometimes, for a few, pool facilities at a more expensive resort without having to book a room there.
What Age Ranges Are Kids Clubs For?

Typically, kids clubs in Bali tend to cater for kids between 0 and 10 or 0 and 12, however, this can very wildly between resorts and we’d strongly advise you to call a resort before you book and ensure that their club offering is suitable for your children.
One thing we should note is that with children aged 4 and under, there is usually a requirement for you to accompany your child at kids club. This is for safety reasons as international standards require a higher ratio of supervisors to children than a kids club will typically have available.
Some hotels also have “teen clubs” for older kids and this can be very handy if you have teenagers who aren’t quite ready to go out and get social without a little helping hand.
The best hotels will often modify their activities based on feedback and input from the children in their care too.
What Activities Can Kids Enjoy At Kids Club?

There are so many different activities at the kids clubs in Bali that it would be impossible to list them all, there might be saltwater swimming pools, a games room, table tennis, table soccer, Balinese dancing, movie nights, cooking classes, a pool table, tropical gardens to run around in and so much more.
Some even have their own unique features like a Giant Tipping Bucket (found in the Kids Water Fun Zone at the Mulia Hotel).
What’s In A Kids Club For The Adults?

You can’t just dump your kids for the day at a kids club in Bali and then pick them up 8 hours later. A kids club isn’t daycare or a babysitter.
But you can leave them, as long as they are over the age of 4, for a couple of hours while you dive into the hotel facilities.
So, you might want to kick back in the Infnity Pool or at the Fours Seasons Resort Spa Jimbaran Bali , jump off the ground floor and go to the beachside bars at Padma, join a yoga class at Renaissance, do some water sports at Melia and so on.
In essence, a kids club gives the adults on a family holiday a little down time to enjoy the facilities of the resort that they worked hard all year to pay for.
What Does A Kids Club Cost?

If you want to use a kids club in Bali, mostly, you will need to stay at the resort that offers the kids club. The facilities are usually free of charge for guests and your kids will usually get access to them all the time that they are open.
Some resorts do offer a day pass to their kids club in Bali but they’re not always cheap – 100,000 IDR ($6 USD or $10 AUD) per hour would be a minimum rate, with other hotels it can be much pricier.
If you need babysitting or nanny services, they are available on the island, and can often be arranged through your hotel.
There are also several reputable providers of babysitting, nannies, and daycare that you can use that are not affiliated to a hotel.
Safety At Kids Clubs In Bali

One thing you can guarantee about five star hotel brands is that they don’t take chances with other people’s children. (Imagine the negative publicity if something serious happened).
They use trained and internationally accredited staff. The materials used in almost all areas of the kids club will, wherever practical, by child-safe.
The pools are always supervised and the play areas are completely secure with someone watching at all times to ensure that if anything goes wrong, help is immediately on hand.
So, you can kick back and relax when your kids are at the kid club in Bali, they’re in good hands.
Learning Through Play

One thing we love about these kids clubs is that they often sneak in some cultural activities to help children learn about the island disguised as play.
Kids often learn to make canang sari (the little offering baskets that you see outside of every temple, home and business on the island), how to play traditional games and even how to dance like a native Balinese.
Some hotels also have eco-programs like the Westin and the Four Season has a really cool “sea life hunt” that helps children learn about the nature of Balil.
So, kids club is fun but it comes with a side portion of brain boosting. Your children will probably come home with a bunch of new skills.
What’s The Absolute Best Kids Club In Bali?

For us, it’s impossible to pick a winner. Each kids club is different:
The Four Seasons has eco-chic and lots of variety
The Westin Family Kids Club has amazing pools and comes with spa perks too
Bali Dynasty Resort offers the longest hours and it has some teen appeal which not all clubs do
Kempinski is all in on creative luxury
Melia has the longest list of activities that we’ve ever seen
Renaissance has some awesome treehouse vibes that no other club can come close to
And so on…
How To Pick The Right Kids Club

We’ve got some simple tips that will help you choose the right kids club for your little ones:
Consider how old your kids are – then pick a resort that caters to that age group
Consider where you want to be – beach or jungle?
Consider how much you can spend – stay in a luxury resort or book a day pass?
Consider what you as the adults want too – look at the resort facilities closely, what appeals to you as the kids play?
FAQs
Which Part Of Bali Is Best For Kids?
We think that anywhere on the South Coast of Bali is going to be pretty good for kids, as is Ubud. These are the areas with the most family friendly resorts and where there are the most amount of things to do.
The South Coast consists of the beach towns of Canggu, Seminyak, Kuta, Legian, Jimbaran, Uluwatu, Pecatu, Ungasan, Sanur and Nusa Dua and each area has something to offer.
Perhaps, the two most popular beach towns for families with kids are Nusa Dua and Sanur.
Nusa Dua Beach has beautiful white sand, and it’s picture postcard perfect, and there are lots of high-end resorts in the area, which make it their business to provide hotels with a kids club and much more to keep the whole family happy.
However, don’t overlook Sanur, which also has nice sand beaches, but the resorts are much better value for money and even younger kids can swim in the ocean as the beach is shielded by a reef to make the waves and current very mild.
Are Kids Allowed In FINNS Club Bali?
No, FINNS is an adults-only club, though in practice, that means children over the age of 16 are allowed inside with their parents.
This is because FINNS Beach Club is all about partyin,g and while we’d like to accommodate families, it’s just not a suitable environment for children to play in.
It’s a place to drink, eat and dance with friend,s and that can lead to behaviour that’s all in good fun but isn’t quite right for young eyes.
If you want to enjoy FINNS but you have young travellers with you, then why not use one of the island’s excellent babysitting services or nanny services?
That way you can be sure that your children will be in an age appropriate environment, while you let your hair down.
What Age Is Ayana Kids Club For?
Ayana’s kids club is broken down into two separate offerings. There’s Guidepost which is suitable for children aged between 2 and 1/2 to 6 and Green Camp which is for kids aged between 7 and 12.
Guidepost is a Montessori-based program in which kids can play and self-direct their learning experiences as they enjoy themselves. There are plenty of fun and educational activities for the kids to enjoy at this spot all under the eye of experienced and qualified staff.
For the older kids, the Green Camp offering is a nature-based day camp where children can learn all about the local environment in a safe and welcoming fashion.
Ayana is a very well-respected five star resort and there is a second resort on the same grounds (owned by the same group) called Rimba.
There is also a Rimba Kids Club which is open to all children aged over the age of 4.
How Much Is Melia Bali Kids Club?
As with many of the kids’ club offers here in Bali, the Melia Bali Kids Club on Bali Nusa Dua Beach is entirely complimentary for their in-house guests.
We’d recommend that you book a room at this Nusa Dua Beach Resort if you want to make use of this facility.
That way, you can be sure your kids are entertained doing indoor and outdoor activities at the hotel kids club, while you relax by the pool.
This kids’ club aims to provide fun activities for the little ones to spend the whole day enjoying themselves.
The Melia employs the highest and latest international security and safety standards and encourages the children to form new friendships and to explore their own interests.
What Age Is Sofitel Bali Kids Club For?
The Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua has a kids club called Cheeky Monkey Kids Club and it’s for kids between the ages of 1 and 10.
The first two hours at this kids club are free but there are additional charges for each hour beyond 2 hours spent enjoying the kids club activities.
Children aged 4 and over may use this facility by themselves and as we said it’s a free kids club for the first 2 hours, but if a child is aged under 4, they will need a parent or guardian to accompany them.
If you want a child under the age of 4 to take part without you, the Sofitel can help you access on an onsite nannying service which can take care of your kids at the club. This service is, of course, available at a price.
Does The W Seminyak Have A Kids Club?
The W Seminyak is an upscale hotel on Seminyak Beach and the hotel does not have any kind of kids club facility.
While they do offer some children’s activities at certain points during the day, families who’ve stayed at this hotel have indicated that these weren’t very good for keeping their kids entertained.
We think this hotel might be best for adults looking to splurge on a few days in an expensive resort, rather than for families seeking the perfect holiday in Bali.
Certainly, there’s no kids water fun zone, board games, cultural activities, indoor playground, arts and crafts activities, etc. that usually keep the little ones entertained.
Final Thoughts On The Best Kids Clubs In Bali
As you can see, Bali has some really excellent kids club options and each kids club in Bali has something different to offer.
From an indoor playground/outdoor playground to cultural activities such as kite making and Balinese dance lessons, to rock climbing, there’s something for every child in Bali.
You just have to work out what your kids are into and what your budget will allow for and then book the right resort for your family’s needs and desires.
