Additionally, many “dinner restaurants” in Uluwatu are actually more popular for their breakfast or lunch menus, while their dinner dishes aren’t nearly as praised, so those places won’t make the list either.

Mana is a famous restaurant with a view, part of the Uluwatu surf villas. You can enjoy your dinner from the second-floor open-air dining, or from the poolside cabana.

A great spot for sunset drinks and eclectic bites. Menu highlights for us are spicy and crispy pork belly tacos and roasted chicken. Their craft cocktails are delicious, too.

Ulu Garden

Ulu Garden is one of our favourite Uluwatu restaurants near Thomas Beach.

All the food is incredibly fresh and well-cooked, and the whole place has an amazing atmosphere for your dining experience, especially with lights across the garden.

The menu celebrates local ingredients and Indonesian food, but with a modern twist. Our pick is lemongrass barramundi! They cook many dishes over the open fire, which gives those signature smoky, charred flavours hard to duplicate in kitchens.

Every night, they also have live music, sometimes even with traditional dances.

They run happy hours every day, plus every Tuesday is a Latin night for dancing and fun!

Note that they may limit your table reservation for 1.5 hours, so talk to the staff in advance if you want to stay longer.

If you want to pair a dining experience with an activity, the restaurant runs silver jewellery-making workshops, which are very popular!

Note for families: there IS a small outdoor playground here, so come with kiddos.

Overhead stands out even in its architecture, a modern, almost brutalist building with an open-air dining area and lots of greenery inside.

Their food blows your mind, especially the roast beef burger, prawn linguine pasta, and meat platter for sharing (almost reminds you of Texas-style BBQ). It is all comfort food with flavours from all over the world.

Their breakfast options are really strong, too, so if you can’t make it for dinner, try shakshuka in the morning!

In 2025, they also snatched a reward and the title of the Indonesian Coffee in Good Spirits (ICGS) Champion’s Coffee Restaurant.

A go-to spot for grilled meats right on the main road in Uluwatu, near Padang Padang Beach. A paradise for meat lovers, and sapi in Indonesian, quite plainly means…beef, too.

The idea is simple: you pick a cut from the showcase (they work only with fresh meats available daily), the doneness of your grilled meat, one side dish, one sauce, and one condiment.

Their Wagyu and Picanha draw crowds, so book a table in advance and keep in mind that they are open only for dinner (from 4 PM onwards).

YUKI Uluwatu

YUKI is one of the high end uluwatu restaurants specialising in Japanese cuisine and some takes on it. Think miso soup, but also tuna tartare, classic raw fish sushi and rolls and small grilled skewers, too.

Surprisingly, their innovative creations around Japanese food are more welcomed by the local crowd than classic dishes.

Apart from food, they have parties a few days a week, schedule is updated on their social media.

Fair warning, we do love their Uluwatu branch more than the Canggu one.

Avli is a new hidden gem in Uluwatu – a Greek restaurant where you can find outstanding lamb dishes, famous Mediterranean dips and spreads, and filling suvlaki, all of that with a touch of warm hospitality.

The place itself is very cozy, everything you order comes on beautifully plated dishes, and special mention goes to their baklava dessert, which is simply a must-have for sweet tooths.

If before KALA was pretty much the only Greek restaurant in the “village”, now Avli makes a strong competitor and is already winning over fans.

The best place for vegetarians and vegans on Uluwatu’s dining scene is Alchemy. They have the biggest salad bar, health store, and plenty of seating. Every now and then, they have live music, too.

Food-wise, the jackfruit burger is a great choice, and if you want something lighter, go for the falafel protein bowl or their medicinal soups.

A seriously underrated place, just a short drive from the main area in Uluwatu, Waatu serves excellent open-flame-grilled meats paired with an amazing selection of wines for any wine lover.

It is a classic Japanese yakitori (skewers) place reinvented with an Indonesian touch. The menu is simple, limited, but you will not even think about it. Wagyu beef and calamari are very tasty.

It is a kid-friendly place with a separate kids’ menu.

If you’re not familiar with it, make sure to try signature plates: khinkali (large juicy dumplings), khachapuri (cheese boat), and any kind of meat – they are all cooked to perfection. Not to worry, they do offer vegetarian options, as well.

Tarragon also has a shisha menu with different flavours.

On average, one person will spend about 200,000 IDR (20 AUD) here for one dish and a non-alcoholic drink.

Bartolo is a fantastic French-Italian restaurant in Uluwatu for date nights and something closer to a fine dining experience in the area.

Styled like an upscale bistrot, Bartolo serves the best cacio e peppe on the island, juicy clams, hearty beef bourgignon, and more of the Western food classics you have to try!

For the date, pick the set menu (400,000 IDR or 40 AUD per person). Wine lovers will be pleased with the wine selection.

Ohana is the Uluwatu outpost for dining with kids. Their playground is massive and goes beyond a sling and a slide; it comes with a proper sandpit, racetrack, toddler-safe area, and even a kids’ cinema!

Adults can relax in a tropical setting with Italian food and some international dishes. Pizza, pasta, and sandwiches, but also incredible desserts. Their lava cake is really good, and for the main course, we usually go for pasta with truffles or prawns.

Most dishes on the menu are priced around 100,000-150,000 IDR (10-15 AUD) except steak and slow-cooked meats, which are more expensive.

Chela

Chela

Chela is hands down one of the most beautiful restaurants in Uluwatu to have dinner – the main hall is a towering bamboo pavilion with curved shapes and a gentle breeze.

Once the breakfast/brunch menu ends at 4 PM, the dinner menu rolls out at about 5 PM till closing. It is good for both a quick dinner while answering some urgent emails on the laptop or a casual date night.

Food has a strong Mediterranean inspiration with small plates of burrata, eggplants, tartare or lamb kofta. As a main, we would go with wood-fired octopus or wood-grilled steak.

The wine list is quite good. Chela has one of our favourite local wines on the list, Sababay, by glass, to enhance your dining experience.

La Pasion is one of the best Mexican food places in Uluwatu, with refreshing margaritas, great live music, and open-air movie nights.

The menu is massive, and all the food is pretty affordable. Get what you want: tacos, quesadilla, tostadas, fajitas, or go with pizza or pasta (yep, they have those, too!)

And did we mention, you can dip your toes in their pool to cool off? All in all, one of the most chill and coolest places to dine in Ulu.

Hatch Uluwatu

Hatch Uluwatu

Hatch Uluwatu is a legendary spot for partying every night! Its hippie garden setting is great for dinner that will slowly turn into dancing.

This is not a place to enjoy a quiet dinner, but one to move your body to Afro beats, techno, drum and bass, or hip hop.

Apart from DJ sets, this place has beer pong, table tennis, mini golf, board games, and even Mario Karts! If you are excited about nightlife, you should definitely add Hatch to your Bali itinerary.

So, food-wise, Hatch’s kitchen serves Mexican food, like tacos, burritos, pescadillas, or Mexican sandwiches. All are very filling and cost about 120,000 IDR (12 AUD).

Unique Rooftop @ Rimba Jimbaran

Unique Rooftop @ Rimba Jimbaran

For an upscale, romantic vibe, a dinner at Rimba’s rooftop restaurant overlooking the resort’s infinity pools and the Indian Ocean is a great option.

Dining experience here easily rivals cliffside fine dining, but you can choose to sit indoors or book a comfy sun lounger.

If you’re staying at Rimba or any of the AYANA resorts, you can also have beach access to a pretty hidden beach.

The menu here is another take on Mexican-Latin-Spanish food with some of the most delicious cocktails in the Uluwatu area. You can enjoy iconic chicharon (crispy pig skin), ceviche, grilled corn, mole, tacos, but our pick is fajitas with prawns or chicken.

Prices are quite high, with main dishes costing about 250,000-400,000 IDR (20-40 AUD) before taxes (10+11%).

Do not skip the drinks! They have excellent mixologists, and also classic micheladas, alongside agave-based liquors to choose from.

More Uluwatu Dining Experiences That Are Worth It

  • De Morelos Mexicana Uluwatu is what we’ve been missing here in Ulu – a proper truck with good tacos and burritos. You can sit down at one of the few chairs or take them home.
  • Yeys’s Warung is a local restaurant with authentic Indonesian cuisine you can enjoy for cheap. It is basically a food buffet, nasi campur, where you can pick whatever you want. Good for an early dinner, as later at night the choice gets scarce.
  • The Bench Uluwatu is the perfect place to dine with friends and watch sports. They excel at burgers and craft beers.
  • Off The Hook – cheap eats for everyone who loves grilled fish and seafood (local style). Better for takeaway.

  • Loca Warung is great for traditional Indonesian-style meals like fried rice (nasi goreng) or noodles (mie goreng). Cheap eats spot with really good food.
  • Warung Local is the stop to grab food to go when you feel like just watching some Netflix, and you are in love with chicken satay (skewers), which we can’t blame you for!
  • Seafood Market in Jimbaran. An entire beach as your dining room? A strip of restaurants in Jimbaran connected to the seafood market grills fresh seafood and fish right for you. You can dine at one of the cafes or simply take it to the beach and enjoy while sitting on the sand in awe with the colourful sunset and its warm lighting. It is a bit of a drive from Bingin Beach or Uluwatu, but it is worth it at least once.
