FINNS Beach Club, Bali – The World’s Best Beach Club

FINNS Beach Club Party VIP Drone Shot Canggu Bali

FINNS is much more than a classic beach club on the paradise island of Bali.

It’s one of the world’s most luxurious beach clubs and it’s considered to be the best in the world, for good reasons.

1 in 8 visitors to Bali will visit this beach club and the incredible oceanfront infinity pools, swim-up bars, and fine dining party restaurants.

There are local and international DJs and non-stop entertainment from the moment the doors open until the moment everyone goes home at the end of the day including a daily fireworks performance.

Casa Jondal, Ibiza

Rafa Zafra, formerly of El Bulli, is in charge of the menu at this Ibizan club and the food is world-class as you’d expect. The whole deep-fried scorpion fish is an unbeatable experience.

We love the casual chic of their staff who all look like they’re auditioning for an S-Club 7 reunion. Faded denim has never been this good.

It’s not the busiest of the beach clubs on our list, but it’s very popular with the in-crowd on the island and has overtaken the Blue Marlin Ibiza as the more desirable venue on the island.

The Peligoni Club, Zakynthos, Greece

This is a family-friendly beach club where the party is a little more restrained than at most beach clubs and you will find a focus more on inclusive fun for all ages.

They have regular pop-ups from visiting chefs, wellness workshops where you can work on your summer fitness and diet program and live music events that appeal to the younger audience.

They lay out is also quite fascinating and it’s divided into lots of different spaces, rather like a posh spa as opposed to a beach club.

Republiek Bloemdaal, The Netherlands

Yes, we know that most people don’t associate The Netherlands with golden sand and sun.

However, it’s not just the French Riviera in Europe that brings in the crowds and this place with a view of the North Sea has shown that it’s entirely possible for beach clubs to succeed in less sunny environments.

They’re open all year round, even when it’s a bit chilly to sit on a sun lounger because of the amazing views from the pavilion and the incredible food in the Van’t Spit restaurant.

You can even get a taste of Southeast Asia here, as they do a mean banana pancake breakfast which is super tasty and healthy.

The Bodrum Edition, Turkey

If you fancy enjoying Turkey’s Turquoise Coast and Aegean Sea then this beach club is a great place to rent yourself a VIP cabana and curl up by the infinity pool for the day.

Scorpios, Mykonos, Greece

Scorpios is one of the longest-established beach clubs and it set the tone for beach club design for much of the world, which means a touch of the local design culture around daybeds in a way that looks effortless.

It might look casual, but the investment in this kind of quality is huge and you will find that the entertainment is even bigger and better than the decor.

This is an upscale party place for those who are tired of the dance clubs of places like Ibiza but are still in search of a good time among the beautiful people of Europe.

Their partnership with the nearby Soho Roc House hotel makes it easy to find somewhere to rest your head after a day of fun.

There’s talk that the company behind Scorpios intends to enter many other markets and there may be similar beach clubs popping up everywhere.

Byblos Beach Ramatuelle, France

This elegant place on Pampelonnne Beach is all about the environmental harmony of club and land, and there’s a full no-plastic policy and everything inside is sustainably crafter wherever possible.

The food on the menu is all about local ingredients which are sourced from farms, fisheries, and gardens nearby and they emphasize the joy of seasonal produce.

Incredibly, when the club closes for Winter, it’s fully disassembled and taken away until the next year, leaving no trace of its existence at all.

Gitano Beach, Tulum, Mexico

Gitano Beach was the first of the beach clubs in this chain (they now have additional clubs in New York and Miami).

This spot on the Atlantic Ocean sits over a gorgeous private cove with some of the finest views in the world.

It’s very much a day club as opposed to a party club and you will find that the vibe is very laid back, it’s the sort of place you’d expect to find in a creative village setting rather than on the coast.

The menu is first rate and we can heartily recommend grazing on just about everything as you enjoy some live music from the resident DJs here.

La Réserve à la Plage, Ramatuelle, France

The area of Pampelonne Beach saw a huge crackdown on beach clubs in the build-up to the pandemic and they rebuilt 23 beach clubs from scratch in a truly sustainable fashion.

This is said to have inspired Michel Reybier to do the same for this beach club. La Réserve à la Plage is a seriously upmarket affair in the South of France and it feels casual but is anything but.

Their restaurant, La Voile, is managed by Eric Canino who has two Michelin Stars!

Sunset seekers will enjoy kicking back by the driftwood tables to watch the yachts coming by as the in-house DJs get the party started with tunes pounding out of the world-class speakers.

Six Senses Ibiza, Spain

Six Senses is a wellness resort and it’s placed on the Northern Tip of Ibiza with an amazing view of Cala Xarraca Bay.

The beach club is in a series of caves below the resort and they provide shade and one of the most intriguing views that you can find at a beach club anywhere in the world.

The DJs, as you’d expect in Ibiza, are world-class entertainment and as the sun sets, you can enjoy some of the best tunes ever.

Le Sereno Al Mare, St Barths

You will need some Italian lessons before you visit Le Sereno Al Mare as the staff here are all Italian and they insist on only using their native language.

Given this is a French enclave that’s a bit confusing but what’s not confusing is that this is a beach club for the rich and not so famous.

There are no gaudy A-listers or pop stars here, everyone is elegant and relaxed and looking to enjoy a laid-back vibe where they can focus on their own inner wellbeing.

The restaurant excels at delivering some of the least pretentious but utterly delicious haute cuisine that we’ve ever encountered.

Even in peak season, this place keeps its cool and delivers a wonderful experience to its customers.

La Caseta, Barcelona, Spain

While you don’t need to be a member of this beach club to enjoy their restaurant, you do have to be a member to use the rest of the facilities.

La Caseta is a fabulous seafood restaurant, but it’s a shame to miss out on yoga, paddleboarding, meditation, live music, and regular tastings in the rest of the club.

Its position on Garraf Beach offers an unrivalled view of the sea and the sand before it.

Atzaro Beach, Ibiza, Spain

This beach club is inspired by the 70s era and it’s one of the best places in the Balearics to enjoy sun sets, flip flops and even watch some water sports as the world goes on around you.

We love their sustainable design principles which see driftwood tables and stunning straw parasols shading them with swinging comfortable bamboo seating.

The food is all sharing plates and generous Buddha bowls served at your daybed.

It’s just a shame that there are prettier spots on the island, as everything else about this beach club is on target.

Uxua Casa, Trancoso, Brazil

Brazil may not be the first place you associate with luxury and at first glance, Uxua appears to be nothing but a casual beach bar.

But the plush daybeds here have seen serious investment, the private villas on this stretch of private beach are a very next touch that other beach clubs could mimic in the future.

And they have free yoga and capoeira lessons on the white sands too.

If you want a very different place to get your chill on, Uxua Casa might be what you need.

Azura Peri-Peri Beach Club, Mozambique

If you want to feel like an explorer on a remote island, this beach club might be for you.

It’s much more than a beach bar and has a private beach where you can lounge around and enjoy tasty drinks made by the best barmen in Mozambique.

This location is quite remote and everything feels like a truly exceptional private party experience.

Beach Rouge, Grand Baie, Mauritius

This is one of the beach clubs tucked away in a resort and in this case, it’s the LUX* Resort in Grand Baie.

It was designed by Kelly Hoppen and it’s meant to grab your attention at first glance.

The sunsets are incredible and the resident DJ is worth hearing out as the sky lights up with colour.

We liked the menu which relies on fresh, locally sourced food to deliver a wonderful selection of tasty dishes.

Nammos in Dubai is heavily influenced by the original Nammos on Psarou Beach.

Yet, the Four Seasons hotel has taken that Psarou Beach club and turned the volume up to 11.

They even imported Greek staff to ensure that you would feel like you were taking part in the Nammos tradition!

Maçakizi, Bodrum, Turkey

This very chic and very private club is all about discrete glamour and you will find yourself surrounded by the real movers and shakers of Turkey here.

If you want pristine beaches, wonderful hillside views and the kind of seclusion that you’d expect a billionaire to seek out, you won’t be disappointed.

It’s the sort of place where you can spend a long, languid day in the summer heat and be certain that your every need will be met.

This excellent beach club is all about dressing up while still remembering that you’re on the beach in summer.

If you like sophisticated vibes and incredible decor for your Instagram feed, you’re not going to be disappointed with Alemagou.

However, it’s worth noting that this beach club is best visited in the Summer as many of the facilities are closed during the off-peak season.

Ellery Beach House, Stockholm, Sweden

OK, you probably don’t picture Sweden as a beach club kind of place, but this trendy beach club is a great place to chill out and enjoy a different side of Swedish life.

Expect an almost whimsical take on the experience but it’s still very chic and feels like it’s a million miles away from the city that is, in fact, just a short drive away.

Of course, if you want to get the most out of it, we’d go in the summer, it can get quite chilly in Sweden in the winter months.

Where Is It? Elfviks udde, 181 90 Lidingö, Sweden

Le Club 55, Saint-Tropez, France

Club 55 on the golden sands of Pampelonne Beach was originally a beach hut that served as a canteen for the cast and crew of the Brigit Bardot movie “And God Created Woman”.

Today, it’s evolved into the kind of place you’d expect in the swanky French Riviera and they’ve been offering a beach club service for a few decades now!

You can regularly see celebrities popping into their private cabanas on the beach and Leonardo DiCaprio, Beyonce, Jay-Z, Sacha Baron Cohen, Kate Moss and many others are regulars.

We’d also note that if you want to visit Club 55, you will need to book a long way in advance. This is one of the most popular places among the European jet set and in July and August, there’s no chance of getting a drop-in seat at all.

Where Is It? 43 Bd Patch, 83350 Ramatuelle, France

Sublime Comporta Beach Club, Comporta, Portugal

This is part of the larger Sublime Group’s holdings in this part of Portugal and many visitors to this beach club will opt to stay at the retreat and spa, next door.

It’s a very sophisticated spot on the Carvalhal Beach and you will find that it’s enormous fun to spend time there.

However, you should know that the club is only fully open from June to September, so don’t dash down there during December in a bikini.

Yes. We don’t even think it’s close at the moment. A good beach club is more than offering direct access to a beach and the water’s edge or some dramatic cliffs and fresh seafood.

And you don’t need to take our word for it – if you see this guide, you will find out why our customers think so too.

What City Has The Best Clubs In The World?

If you’re talking beach clubs, then it’s not a city, it’s the island of Bali – which has more beach clubs than nearly any other destination and is home to FINNS, the world’s best.

However, if you’re interested in nightclubs, New York is probably the place to be with stiff competition from London, Paris, Berlin and other European capitals as well as Dubai in the Middle East.
