Night Rooster Bali: Simply Incredible
Locavore is one of Bali’s best places to eat, and as you’d expect, this is one of the best bars on the island, too.
There are only 40 seats inside, so expect to find yourself in an intimate wooden venue with a real passion for the kinds of cocktails that light up an Instagram feed.
There may only be 10 cocktails on the menu, but each of them is a sensation. Go for the sunset views and majestic ocean views, but Night Rooster is definitely a drinker’s special treat.

40 Thieves: Smoker’s Paradise
Bars in Bali get pretty much the same as the speakeasy that is 40 Thieves. You will find a mix of live bands and DJs most evenings.
The only downside of this Bali bar is that there are no restrictions on smoking. If you’re a smoker, that’s a win. But if you’re not? Pick one of the other best cocktail bars in Bali instead.

Jungle Fish Bali: The No Beach Beach Bar
There’s no beach at Jungle Fish, but it tries to pull off the beach bar atmosphere all the same.
Situated in the Chapung Sebali resort, they have a split-level pool bar and restaurant.
The bar features a huge infinity pool on the edge of the ridge, which gazes down into the Osh River Valley below.
Their homemade spiced vermouth and house-fermented ginger beer add a real kick to their cocktails.

Segno Bali: A Cocktail Connoisseur’s Paradise
If you take all of the ingredients in your cocktails seriously, you’re going to find Segno to be one of the best bars in Bali.
This comes at a price premium but one we’re happy to pay. Their mixologists are supremely talented, and we could easily drink here all night long, though we usually stop for a warm-up before we go to FINNS (because cocktails at a beach bar are our favourite way to spend an evening).

When you want refined elegance that’s always a cut above, there’s a brand you can always rely on to deliver, and that’s Raffles.
The Iconic Writers Bar is meant to evoke the kind of environment that Orwell or Maugham might have been happy to have a post-writing drink in.

This huge rooftop lounge is the largest in Bali, and it sits above the Double Six beach in Seminyak.
You have a massive choice of different seating options, and their happy hour will help you get in the mood for a night time’s session.
The drinks are fine, but they can’t compete with the view, which is just stunning.

Rock Bar Bali @ Ayana Resort & Spa: The Indian Ocean Views
Rock Bar gets very busy, which is probably why it’s on our best bars in Bali list. Its name comes from the local cliff face (which gets a great sunset vibe) that faces the bar, not the music that it plays.
It’s one of the best places for a sundowner anywhere on Earth, and it’s popular because the cocktails are incredible! Try the Rockatonic and see for yourself.
One thing we really like about this bar is that they often have live DJs working the decks from early in the afternoon. It’s good to see somewhere put some real effort into the music for the crowd gathered there.

Pretty Poison: No Craft Beer, Just Skaters And Fun
Not every bar is about the drinks. In the case of Pretty Poison, what they’re primarily about is skating and dancing.
It’s also a great place to get a tattoo if that is on your Bali “must-do” list.
But the drinks are just fine. It’s the kind of place where you drink beer from a can or grab a sharing jug of your favourite cocktails.
As you might expect, the pro skaters get the majority of the attention here, which is completely fair as they make for awesome entertainment.

Ji Terrace By The Sea: Imported Wines And Great Cocktails
This interesting bar with a blend of Japanese and Indonesian themes feels like it’s a world away from the surfer’s paradise, Bali.
We were impressed by their efforts to keep their cocktail list Asian-themed, and the Coco Sexo is a total winner.
It’s a cocktail served in a coconut shell, with vanilla, passion fruit and more going into the mix.
Not only is it a wonderful drink, but there are very few drinks anywhere else on the planet that will look as good in your Instagram feed as it does.

Sling Bar @ The Plantation Grill: Identity Confusion Is Fine By Us
Sling Bar sometimes needs clarification as to its identity, which might make it the perfect bar in 2023.
The interior decor is all about 1920s elegance, which really works and makes for some fantastic photos with friends and loved ones.
But the cocktail menu is inspired by rock and roll classics, and while we loved their Purple Haze (a nod to the late, great Jimi Hendrix) is awesome, we’re still determining what that has to do with the 1920s.
Nonetheless, we’d happily go back because whatever the theme clashes may be, the drinks are fantastic. Oh, and it’s above the Plantation Grill, which is a brilliant place to eat, too.

Parachute: Nylon Covered Garden
Where else could you sit in the shade of an actual parachute? Yes, they use a cargo parachute that’s about 65 feet long to serve as an “umbrella” to cover the dining area here.
We love their beer garden, which is the perfect and totally unpretentious way to spend a hot Bali afternoon.
You can play classic games on the lawn here, and the owners say that a lot of people come to learn a bit about the bar’s chickens and ducks, which wander about freely in their organic garden.

Yes! It’s a second entry on the list by The Shady Family (and frankly, their Shady Fox could also have cut), and that’s because this is the definitive island speakeasy.
You feel like Humphrey Bogart when you wander into this 1940s L.A.-themed place with plenty of bubbly and cocktails on hand.
If you want your holiday to feel decadent and your Instagram feed to look truly awesome, you can’t go wrong with The Shady Flamingo.

You don’t have to choose their fine dining restaurant to enjoy the Aperitif experience in Ubud. In fact, if you want a drink, their bar will be very happy to welcome you.
And what a bar it is! They have over 180 different wines taken from some of the finest vineyards in the world! And don’t worry if you want a cocktail. Their Balinese mixologists really know their stuff.

Woo Bar is a very popular place to be in Seminyak, and while you may have to deal with some crowding to get served here, it’s worth the effort.

The chic design is going to look great in your Instagram feed, too. The only downside is that it’s quite a pricey affair.
