We like the open kitchen at this restaurant, there’s something nice about being able to see your seafood curry and fried rice being made in front of you.
The owner’s second calling is caring for all manner of stray dogs and cats in the local area and when you opt to indulge yourself in some food and cold beers here, you’re helping to support the animals too.

This vegetarian cafe also has plenty of vegan dishes on the menu and our plant-based friends consider AKAR Cafe Lovina to be one of the best venues for tasty food in North Bali.

All the food at this cafe is presented so beautifully that you won’t know whether to eat it or frame it as a work of art.

If you want a traditional warung serving seafood with local flavours, you can’t go wrong with Warung Ibu Wina and their seafood basket is amazing value for money.

The Global Village Kafe
The Global Village Kafe is run by the local charity the Global Village Foundation and thus, when you visit, you can be sure that a percentage of your meal will go to supporting good causes.
Of course, that’s only good news if the Balinese cuisine they serve is good and it very much is, the tuna satay, in particular, is a real highlight of a stay in Lovina.

This resort restaurant is very attractive and it’s a lovely spot for some cocktails at sunset as you see the light break over the lake onsite.
Try the house specialty Babi Damai if you’re looking for a unique take on Balinese cuisine. They also often have Balinese dance performances and live music in the evenings.

Barclona Bar & Restaurant
It’s Barclona, not Barcelona (as it says on some websites) but whichever way it’s spelt, this is one of the tastiest places to eat in the region and we love the fish satay and seafood curry here.
We should also note that they have very friendly service and the restaurant offering represents good value for money too.

Warung Dolphin
We were very pleasantly surprised when we visited Warung Dolphin, we thought the shameless cash-in on the area’s favourite creatures, might lead to a terrible tourist restaurant, but it didn’t.
In fact, the banana spring rolls here are amazing and we were very impressed with the marlin steaks too. It’s also fairly priced, with no hint of a rip-off anywhere in sight.

Mentari Lovina Bar & Kitchen
With a fabulous sunset view, this romantic setting is ideal for a romantic dinner for two or just to chill out after a day of dolphin-watching with a cold beer.
They have an onsite shower room that you can use if you’ve just got off the boat, but you do need to provide your own soap. The showers are free if you eat here, but 5,000 IDR otherwise.

There are 10 tables in each of the dining areas here and the dining experience is absolutely fantastic with real attention to providing each guest with enough space to feel totally comfortable.

Warung Nemo Lovina
You can say that you’ve found Nemo if you go to this cute little warung. They do solid Indonesian food for a reasonable price while offering an excellent sunset view of the ocean.
We recommend getting there in the late afternoon for a few sundowners before you turn to the menu.

If you like good music while you eat, the Sunset Bar at The Lovina Bali is a good place to go. They do some lovely bar snacks as well as a wide range of meals and their cocktails are great.
We were very impressed with the generous portions at this bar and would definitely go back again, next time we’re in Lovina.

This small restaurant is among the private villas at this complex and you can enjoy dining with your feet directly on the beach.
However, it’s fair to say that the view is the highlight of eating here and the food is average at best.

It’s not the prettiest of locations but the food made by the owner and her sister is excellent and we loved the nasi goreng.
We were also very impressed with how spotlessly clean the bathrooms were here!
