While, in our experience, all of these places provide excellent dedicated staff for the public to rely on, places and people can change quickly here in Bali and what was once a top-quality service may not always be a quality service.
Where To See A Dermatologist (Dr/Doctors) In Bali
If you want a dermatologist consultation with proper medical doctors then you should go to the clinic at one of these hospitals.
They all have specialist doctors available and a dermatologist consultation won’t cost a fortune (a recent trip to Bali Med, for example, cost us only 300,000 IDR for the dermatologist consultation which is about $20 USD or $30 AUD).
However, you should note that if the Dr. of Dermatology that you see carries out any treatment or prescribes any medication for your skin, then you will pay for these things in addition to the dermatologist consultation.
The good news is that your consent will always be sought and obtained before any dermatology treatment or other work is done.
You will be given an estimate of the costs at this point (and the estimate is normally an overestimate which means you get money back after making a deposit most of the time rather than ending up with a surprise bill at the end).
It’s also possible, if you have health insurance or travel insurance, that your insurer may pick up some of the costs of the appointment.
But you must check with them first and ensure you meet all of their conditions prior to attending your dermatologist consultation or any dermatology clinic of any kind in Bali.
Bali Med Hospital – Dermatology Specialists
The dermatology department at Bali Med is very approachable and very affordable. They have a drop-in clinic (hours and times vary but can be found on their website).
The only real frustration here is that each doctor keeps their own schedule and trying to make an appointment is really hard work, contact through WhatsApp is not great and though there are details of WhatsApp contact for English speakers, it’s hard to find.
We’d recommend just going to the clinic and asking for the dermatology department, if you can’t see a doctor right then, they will provide you with an appointment for the future.

Siloam Bali – Dermatology Specialists
Siloam is another very reputable hospital and whether you have a heart condition or a skin condition, you can get it treated here.
It’s easier to contact the individual doctors through their website than it is at Bali Med which is a great thing
Dr Gede Putra Kartika Wijaya, Dr Gusti Ayu Vina Mery Giovani, and Dr Tinna Aswirani are all usually available every weekday and often on weekends too.
Siloam is a little more expensive as a clinic than Bali Med but not so much that it’s going to make a huge difference for most people.

They have a CosMedic department at this joint venture hospital in Nusa Dua (which is partly owned by Siloam).
That makes them the best, but also most expensive, source of cosmetic treatments on the island.
The quality is first rate but you should be aware that you can easily find a clinic of this quality in other parts of Southeast Asia for less money.
