Singsing Waterfall: A Treat In The Forested Hills Of North Bali

Don’t confuse Singsing Waterfall for Sing Sing Angin Waterfall which is in a very different part of Bali from this one.

Singsing Waterfall is in the north of the island within walking distance of Lovina Beach if you like long walks and it’s the first waterfall most people visit after seeing the dolphins in this area.

Our guide to Singsing Waterfall will help ensure that you have a great time at this place and that you find your way from the parking area to the waterfall easily enough.

How To Get To Singsing Waterfall?

You’ll need to get to the Northern Coast of Bali to Lovina and that means a long drive from most of the rest of the island.

You don’t need transport to get to Singsing Waterfall if you’re staying in Lovina, it’s walkable or a local motorbike taxi can handle it.

But if you want to see more of the area, we’d recommend hiring a private driver and car as the Grab and Gojek service in this part of Bali isn’t great.

The Trail To Singsing Waterfall

Singsing consists of a pair of waterfalls and while the first is very easy to get to from the parking lot, we’d recommend signing up for one of the guided tour options provided by the local banjar district if you want to see both falls.

The paths along the river here are treacherous and you’re likely to injure yourself if you walk without a guide. We like a bit of adventure but we don’t want to spend our holidays nestled in a hospital bed, either.

When Is The Best Time To Visit Singsing Waterfall?

We would also advise that you prioritize your visit for the end of the rainy season and not go in the dry season, that’s because the second waterfall at this site can dry up and why see one waterfall when you can see two waterfalls at the Singsing Waterfalls?

And we always recommend getting to a site in the early morning if you can, everyone in Bali gets up late and thus if you can get there early, you can have this waterfall pretty much all to yourself.

Is There An Entrance Fee For Singsing Waterfall?

No, as we go to press there is no entrance fee at Singsing Waterfall. However, if you want to use the parking area, you will need to pay a small fee of 5,000 IDR in cash.

And if you want the services of a local guide, you will need to agree on a fair rate with them.

Singsing Waterfall Opening Hours

Officially, Singsing Waterfall is open 24 hours a day but if you want to visit this majestic waterfall and enjoy its natural beauty in the jungle and rice fields, we’d recommend that you go during daylight hours.

Getting to the first of the Singsing Waterfalls is easy enough and you can just follow the trail down from the parking lot. It’s not the most striking fall but you can get some pleasant photos.

However, the second waterfall is much harder to reach and you will need shoes with a very good grip to have any chance of following the path to it even with a guide.

This second waterfall is very much an adventure for the physically fit and it’s the more impressive of the two falls. You will need to ensure that everything you take with you for this is in a dry bag as otherwise, it’s almost a guarantee that it will be soaking wet by the end of the walk.

If you can get a camera to this spot, good work! The waterfall will look awesome in photographs.
