Nightlife Amed: 10 Best Bars & Places To Enjoy The Night Out In This Diving Paradise

Amed – the once-upon-a-time cluster of peaceful fishing villages on Bali’s east coast is today still a quiet paradise but attracts a special crowd: scuba diving and snorkelling enthusiasts looking for the clearest waters and best diving spots.

Yet, diving in the morning leaves the whole day and night to yourself. Even though Amed goes to bed pretty early compared to Canggu or Seminyak, you will still have a blast at one of the bars as Amed village is well known for reggae live music performances and beachfront local bars.

Here is our insider guide to Nightlife in Amed and the list of the best bars to enjoy cold beers, classic cocktails, and some music.

Best Nightlife In Amed

Amed Ocean Sunset 22071038 Nita Pratiwi

Amed nightlife scene is concentrated on the beach strip between the Jemeluk Bay and Pantai Melasti Amed. Here you will find back-to-back local bars serving arak, Bintang beers, cocktails, and some simple food.

One of the biggest advantages of nightlife in Amed is the pricing tag – drinks and food are super affordable and entertainment is most of the time free, you just need to come early and secure a table.

Fair warning about Arak from long-term residents. It is a strong liquor made with palm tree sap and if you’re not a big drinker skip shots and go with Arak cocktails. Use common sense and if not comfortable, refuse the offered free shots or unlabelled open bottles.

The Shaker Bar

A cozy bar on the main street in Amed opened every night from 6 PM till midnight. It is probably the only bar that isn’t on the beach, it has enclosed space so will be perfect for rainy or extra hot days.

They are praised for the cocktails, make sure to try delicious frozen strawberry Daiquiri and classic Negroni and ask bartenders to tell you some stories – they are super friendly!

Of course, some nights include karaoke, live music, sports broadcasts on a big screen or simple board games.

FAQs

Is Amed Bali Worth Visiting?

Amed is Bali’s tranquil paradise for divers and people who love snorkelling and swimming. It is worth the drive, hands down! Plus, the villages around offer amazing cultural experiences (Heaven’s Gates, Tirta Gangga Water Palace, etc), the nature is beautiful and you will be close to the majestic Mount Agung.

Final Thought On Amed Nightlife

Compared to Canggu Amed nightlife is not as exciting and more laid-back. It mostly consists of beachfront local bars with live music and drinks, and no party goes beyond 10 PM.

However, if you love to hang out with a more local crowd and are a reggae fan – Amed will be perfect for you!
