At FINNS Recreation Club, we have unique and renowned sports programs for children between 3 to 17 years of age at the Junior Sports Academy (JSA). Our goal at JSA is to facilitate a fun and active learning environment that enables kids to learn new skills while making new friends. FINNS Recreation Club is Bali’s premier sporting, fitness and entertainment facility, and we ensure that it’s well-equipped for kids to play sports and run around in a safe and exciting space.

At JSA, all kids are welcome. That is why we do our best to have programs that suit parents’ busy schedules and are affordable for all. Our programs run through the school term after-school hours and on Saturday mornings. We also offer programs during school holidays. Our team of educators is passionate and eager to educate and empower kids. We prioritise understanding each child’s personality and learning style, ensuring they get the most out of our program – JSA is open to all children.

FINNS Rec Club is Bali’s biggest and best sporting facility!

We have it all at FINNS Rec Club, across our expansive 4-hectare venue. Located in Berawa, Canggu, you will not find a venue like this that offers more under one roof, with modern and state-of-the-art equipment for workouts, activities and safety. There’s a massive grass field for football and soccer, a 25m lap pool, courts for basketball, tennis, and boxing, plus studios for yoga, pilates, and cycling. If that’s not enough, you can jump, flip and dunk at Bounce Trampoline Centre, bowl at Strike Ten Pin Bowling, or slip and slide at Splash Water Park. There are endless options and activities for kids at FINNS, indoor and outdoor, so they will certainly never be bored and can jump into sports and play all day long.

Kids Sports Canggu – All the sports offered at JSA

One of the best reasons to bring your kids to JSA is the variety of sports to choose from. Maybe your child is dedicated to a particular favourite sport, or maybe he/she wants to try a few. You can choose, depending on their preference or what works in your schedule. 

Basketball. The JSA basketball program teaches kids the fundamentals of the sport, such as dribbling, shooting, passing, footwork and defence and offence drills. They learn essential teamwork skills, mental toughness, and confidence-building exercises. There are four different age groups: Junior Hoops (4-6 years old), Little Hoops (7-9 years), Rookies (9-11 years) and Jumpers (12-16 years). 

Boxing. In our boxing program, kids will learn the basics of boxing, including stance, footwork, and how to throw and dodge punches. Beginners will start with self-defence stances, breathing and simple boxing technique. As they advance, kids will have bag work, core strengthening, and eventually the basics of cross, jab, hooks, and more. Boxing is coached by Arenaldo, a 6-time national champion who now dedicates his time to teaching the sport to kids so they learn discipline, physical fitness, and respect for others.

Capoeira. Our kids’ capoeira program teaches the traditional Afro-Brazilian martial arts, where they can develop balance, agility, coordination, and core strength, helping to improve flexibility while also offering an introduction to Brazilian culture. It’s a playful practice of kicks, footwork, acrobatic moves, and dodges. There are two levels: Mini (4-6 years old) and Junior (7-12).

Dance. Our Love To Dance Academy is run by Miss Claire, who allows kids to explore and nurture their creative skills through movement. Our classes offer a variety of styles so kids can learn them all or choose their favourites: tap contemporary dance, hip-hop, ballet, and jazz.

Muay Thai. Our Muay Thai program showcases the traditional martial arts of Thailand. It’s a combat sport of physical and mental discipline through “the art of eight limbs.” Kids in the program learn techniques such as punches, kicks, and knee strikes. Our coach Arik promises to keep kids on their toes through his fast-paced sessions to improve fitness, discipline, agility, and self-confidence.

Soccer. The JSA program is renowned in Bali for teaching kids the importance of teamwork, communication, sportsmanship, hard work and discipline. Our two coaches, Jose Murillo and Jose Dos Santos, ensure that every child in the program has individual attention and can have fun while learning the basics of the game, including ball control, dribbling, passing, and shooting.

Surfing. FINNS Surf Academy is Bali’s best surf school, teaching kids to surf in a safe and controlled environment. We teach kids of all levels and abilities through a series of sessions on land training (posture, balance and body movements), pool training (board control and underwater breathing), and surf trips. Kids will learn how to read the waves, stand up on a surfboard, and other essential skills that can benefit all board sports, including skateboarding and snowboarding. 


Swimming. One of our most popular programs is our swim lessons, taught by Australian & World Champion and Olympic gold medalist Michael Klim. The Klim Swim program allows kids to learn swimming techniques, ranging from basic strokes to diving and lap swimming in the FINNS 25m lap pool. Kids will also learn water safety skills while building endurance and strength.

Tennis. Our JSA tennis program teaches kids the basics of the sport, such as serving, volleying, and groundstrokes. Through a series of levels, designated by ball colour – Red, Orange, Green and Yellow Ball – kids advance their skills, from learning fundamentals to playing matches while developing hand-eye coordination, motor skills, and strategic thinking.

Volleyball. Our volleyball program focuses on teaching the fundamentals of the sport, from serving and passing to setting and hitting. We emphasise teamwork, communication, and sportsmanship through fun classes of game-based drills and daily scrimmages. 

Indokick Aussie football. Players lead our Indokick program from the men’s and women’s Bali Geckos program, where kids of all ages can learn the basics of the game and have fun playing AFL football. It’s a fast-paced game that teaches teamwork and communication in a fun and social atmosphere that encourages kids to play and make friends.
