We only include restaurants in Bali that serve good food we have tried ourselves, and provide 5-star service.
Uma Cucina (Como Uma Ubud)
Uma Cucina is an Italian restaurant located within the COMO Uma luxury hotel, but they are happy to serve delicious rustic Italian cuisine to non-resort guests, too. And it is worth it!
The restaurant has an open-air seating area and a cozy balcony overlooking the garden to enjoy all the dishes.
A chef from Italy makes sure to use seasonal ingredients and whip up homemade pastas, pizzas out of the brick oven, and traditional desserts. Even more, the restaurant hosts events with celebrity chefs, live music nights, and workshops to teach anyone to make high-quality pasta at home.
Must-try dishes on the menu are their signature Salsicia Pizza, burrata, beef and mozzarella arancini, ravioli, Semifreddo dessert, homemade gelato, and everything they make for Sunday brunches.

Portofino Ubud
Portofino restaurant is right around the corner from Monkey Forest, and it is one of the best restaurants in Ubud.
What we recommend having on your table: lamb ragu pasta and mushroom risotto, and if you want something sweet, try whipped ricotta with honey and profiteroles. Don’t skip the drinks, they make absolutely excellent cocktails.

La Baracca Ubud
An OG chain of Italian restaurants in Bali was opened by two Italian friends. It is best known for making gluten-free options of your favourite pizzas and pasta. The interiors are always peculiar, too – a mix of steampunk and recycled materials. A great spot for lunch or dinner.
The menu is quite big, we loved creamy burrata in salads or pizza, gnocchi four cheese (the best in Ubud in our opinion), lunch panini sandwiches, and free limoncello they serve after your meal.

GENIO By Twist
A nice Italian spot to grab a classic pizza Margarita, or pepperoni pizza, or indulge in a tiramisu. Opinions were divided, some say it tastes exactly like in Napoli (Naples), some said it is not that authentic – didn’t matter as we finished everything we ordered!
The menu has lots of pizza options to choose from and even some vegan pizzas!

L’Osteria Pizza e Cucina
L’Osteria is the most family-friendly Italian restaurant in Ubud as they have a special kids’ menu for all bambini with fresh pasta, mini pizzas, and ice cream, of course.
Adults will have a feast here, too. Many will argue that they make the best pizza in Bali, and beef and octopus carpaccio, and pasta are pretty good as well. Top it with creamy Limoncello Tiramisu.
We recommend reserving a table in advance, they often have a waiting list in the evening.

ARTE Ubud
An Italian restaurant in Ubud that is open only for dinner and blends authentic Italian cuisine, a small library, and art exhibitions.
The kitchen quickly sends out Napoli-style delicious pizza, salads made with fresh ingredients, vegan and gluten-free or regular pasta, famous gelato, and international wines.

Pizzeria Monello Italian Kitchen
Pizzeria Monello is a great place with Roman-style pizza with delicious thin dough crust (yes, dough can be delicious!), and marinara sauce packed with flavours.
We recommend trying gnocchi, pasta aglio oglio, traditional Roman-style meatless lasagna with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese, and torta di ricotta for dessert. They have a special vegan menu, too.

FIGO Open Kitchen
We would like to say that this is an Italian-inspired restaurant as they will serve you homemade pastas alongside Hawaiian pizza, which we know makes Italians twitch, but Westerners, we do love it! To be fair, they make lots of classic wood-fired pizzas, too!
Some dishes are cheaper than at other Italian restaurants in the area, and yet, the place was not really crowded when we went.
The only thing that didn’t match the high standard for us was the lack of grated parmesan cheese on the side when you order pasta.

Habitat Bistro Ubud by Wonderspace
An upscale Italian restaurant in Ubud with an extensive menu of their vision of traditional Italian food and some Western staple dishes.
A great place for a family dinner, you can see an amazing sunset and dip in a swimming pool. Food-wise, we recommend tartare and carbonara – very yummy.
The prices on the menu exclude 21% tax, so make sure to account for that when ordering.

Casa Curandera Bali
This restaurant blends Italian and Colombian cuisine. They make hearty, satisfying comfort food, pizza in a lava stone oven, and are dedicated to only using organic ingredients.
We loved arancini, Italian Zuppa Reishi Pasta e Ceci soup, vegetarian ravioli, and sweet purple potato and pumpkin gnocchi.
The spot also has cool river views and a meditation area.

Warung Citta Ovest Pizza & Pasta
Cheap eats, Italian-style. Super affordable pasta and pizza, the place is simple and small (so best for delivery).
Pasta portions are big, pizzas are super cheesy, and drinks are refreshing. What else can we ask for? Go with something classic like carbonara or pizza Margarita.

Bella Pizza Ubud
Craving some pizza? Bella Pizza has plenty of choices, with vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options available, too. Oven-baked pizza comes with rice paddies views and a reasonable price. Quatro formaggi is our favourite.
Apart from pizza, they actually make some staple pasta dishes, too, like Bolognese, Spaghetti Arrabiatta, or Pesto.

Pizza Cult
Pizza Cult makes amazing sourdough pizza, and every pizza is 100% plant-based! They also have gluten-free dough and recipes without onion and garlic.
You should try Jackfruit Spaghetti and Mushroom pizza with white base at this vegetarian’s paradise.
They don’t have alcohol, except for a few beers, so no limoncello as a digestif here.

Embers Restaurant
While technically a Mediterranean restaurant, Embers pays great respect to Italian cuisine. Our picks were carpaccio, butternut squash risotto, and duck, and everything was delicious.
It is worth saying that the presentation of each dish is stunning, one of the birthday-worthy restaurants in Bali.
Plus, the wine list has a few white, red, and sparkling wines from Italy.

Mazzoni Pizza
Two-storey pizza restaurant a bit outside of the central Ubud. They make authentic Napolitan-style pizzas in the oven with all our favourite toppings: prosciutto and rucola, salami, seafood, 4 cheeses, or simple Margarita.
For starters, you have to try prosciutto with mango – an Italian-Balinese creation, and if you have space left for sweets, go for gelato or sweet pizza with nuts and chocolate!
