Colek Pamor Waterfall offers its own uniqueness to visitors as it falls from high cliffs to the pool below and it’s a place that mainly only local people visit, so you can often have this perfect destination all to yourself.
Our guide will help you enjoy a trip to this highly recommended location in Bali.
Where Is Colek Pamor Waterfall?
Colek Pamor Waterfall is in North Bali in the Buleleng Regency. It’s a short drive from Lovina, Singaraja and the village of Munduk.
From Ubud, it’s about 2 hours and it’s a bit further from the beach towns of Canggu, Seminyak, Legian and Kuta which are about another hour’s drive away.
How To Get To Colek Pamor Waterfall?
There are three ways to get to Colek Pamor Waterfall:
Private car and driver – there is a parking lot at this waterfall and that makes it an ideal spot for a private car to park up and wait for you while you visit. The biggest advantage of renting a car and driver is that you get to set your own itinerary for the day. If you want, for example, to visit the other waterfall in nearby GitGit Village (in Sukasada District), you can do and do it on your own timescale.
Organized tour – you won’t save much money opting for an organized tour but it’s a great way to meet new people and share the experience of Colek Pamor Waterfall if you’re in Bali by yourself or if the people you’re with want to do something different while you visit Colek Pamor Waterfall.
Scooter – we never recommend using a scooter to visit anywhere and Colek Pamor Waterfall is no exception. You can do it, but if you do, please make sure that you are 100% road-legal or your travel insurance will not pay out if you have an accident. Sadly, accidents are all too common on the poorly maintained roads in Bali and it can be very expensive to seek hospital treatment. We always recommend taking a car instead of a scooter.
When’s The Best Time To Visit Colek Pamor Waterfall?
There’s no bad time of year to visit most waterfalls but as Colek Pamor is a little smaller than many of the other waterfalls in Bali, you might want to go in the rainy or shoulder seasons where the water flow tends to be a bit heavier and the fall will appear more dramatic.
Colek Pamor Waterfall is not one of the most popular spots on the Bali waterfall trail, as yet, so you can arrive at any time of day and get nice photos without crowds. But the best light is likely to be in the early morning.
What Is The Entrance Fee For Colek Pamor Waterfall?
As we go to press, there is no official entrance fee for this waterfall and the car parking is free too.
However, this is Bali and it’s possible that if it becomes more popular, that a charge will follow, but it’s unlikely to be more than 10-20,000 IDR if it does happen.
What To Expect At Colek Pamor Waterfall
Foreign tourists should make sure to wear comfortable clothes to these waterfalls as it’s quite a walk from the car parking area to the waterfall itself and it takes about 15-30 minutes depending on your natural pace.
There are two forks in the path that you need to be aware of. The first splits into two and you need to follow that to the right and then at the second where the path splits into three, you go up the stairs. (If you follow other paths, you can actually get to Gitgit Waterfall from here).
Once you arrive, you will find this is an area of natural beauty surrounded by green scenery and tropical trees.
The fresh air and soothing sound of the valley filled with pouring water will delight everyone and nature lovers will be super happy with the photos they get here.
