Suluban Beach is located in South Bali, on the Bukit peninsula, next to the famous Uluwatu Beach (Pantai Uluwatu). It opens to the Indian Ocean.

It is a small hidden beach, attracting surfers from all over Bali and the world.

The Balinese name of the beach is Pantai Suluban. In Balinese vocabulary, Pantai means “beach”, and the word Suluban means “to pass under” and you will pass under rocks to get there.

Balinese also believe that the Gods descended to the human world on this beach.

Suluban Beach is also known as Blue Point Beach because of perfectly clean azure waters and endless places to take pictures of the ocean.

Weekdays are better than weekends to avoid crowds.

No matter the season you can come to the beach at sunrise and sunset.

  • Right before sunset, around 4-5 PM, you can enjoy the beautiful views and bright pink-orange sunset, especially during the wet season (November to April). Start to climb back before it gets too dark.

If you plan on visiting Uluwatu temple & Kecak Dance, add Suluban Beach to your day trip, it is close and worth stopping by.
