This gorgeous waterfall is located in the Karangasem Regency outside of Pateh Village. It’s not far from the villages of Sidemen and Manggis.

How To Get To Jagasatru Waterfall?
You will need a motorbike to get to this waterfall. We don’t normally recommend hiring a bike in Bali because the roads are bad and it’s hard to be road-legal.
So, please make sure that you have insurance and that you are road-legal (because otherwise, your insurance is invalid).
Rent one in nearby Sidemen and return it after the trip. Follow the off-road trail to the parking area, then walk down the track (there are some very slippery stairs). It’s a bit of a hike but it’s worth it.
When Is The Best Time To Visit Jagasatru Waterfall?
We always recommend that you visit waterfalls at the end of the wet season in Bali as it’s when they are at their most impressive due to water flow.
Is There An Entrance Fee For Jagasatru Waterfall?
No, there is no entrance fee for Jagasatru Waterfall but you will be asked for a donation. 10-15,000 IDR per person is enough.
What To Expect At Jagasatru Waterfall
This is a sacred place and thus, women are expected to stay away if they are on their periods and if you want to bathe in the swimming pools here, you will be required to rent a sarong (10,000 IDR).
It’s a long walk from the parking area to the waterfall and it’s a steep path, so expect to spend about 30 minutes each way getting down to the holy pool.
There is a nice little warung near the entrance with no name where you cna buy drinks and snacks.
Where To Stay Near Jagasatru Waterfall
There isn’t a lot of accomodation in the nearby area but you could try these places:
Manggis Dive Resort – an attractive 3-star hotel where you can get fresh air and natural beauty in the garden and enjoy a calm, relaxing environment. The views here of the rice fields and countryside are amazing and most people will be very pleased with the value for money this place represents.
Pondok Sadra Dan Kondra Family – an ultra-basic homestay with a local family. You won’t spend very much here but it’s comfortable enough.
Hideout Bali – a gorgeous bamboo house with fantastic access to nature. Few tourists will ever stay in a place this beautiful in Bali and it’s very reasonably priced.

Arcada Bali – another lovely bamboo house deep in the jungle with easy access to walk to the local waterfall and rice fields. The staff are very friendly and it’s practically a tourist attraction in its own right.
Where To Eat Near Jagasatru Waterfall
There’s not much to eat in this area and the nearest place other than the small warung at the gate is Warung Mek Sangeh, a pleasant snack bar, but it’s quite a drive from the waterfall. You might want to bring your own drinks and snacks because of this.
Things To Do Near Jagasatru Waterfall (Tourist Attractions)
You can’t walk to any of these places from the Jagasatru Waterfall unless you’re in the mood for a very long, hot hike but they are all a short drive away:
Air Terjun Yeh Labuh Waterfall – a very small waterfall that you have to do some trekking to get to. It has lovely natural scenery and a very small natural pool for you to take a dip in. It’s free to enter, but you may be asked for a donation in the donation box – 10-15,000 IDR per person is more than enough.
Air Terjun Yamuna Waterfall – you will have to work to find this place as the map location on Google Maps is wrong. Ask around locally and they will be happy to point you in the right direction. It’s a very peaceful place that sees almost no visitors at all. The water is clear, clean and lovely too.
Batu Engsel Waterfall – a seriously hidden gem that requires climbing over rocks and wading through the local river to reach it. It’s worth the effort though, it’s a unique waterfall cascading into a narrow canyon that looks awesome in photographs.
Indrawati Ulakan Beach – Pantai Indrawati Ulakan is a very pleasant black sand beach not too far away from Jagasatru Waterfall. It doesn’t see too many visitors either, so you may enjoy the stunning views of the Indian Ocean here in peace.
Gembleng Waterfall – a popular waterfall with visitors to Sidemen, with a dramatic drop-off from the cliffs above. You can swim at these sacred falls quite safely. Gembleng Waterfall is very much worth a visit.
